PROJECT OVERVIEW
Belden Inc. is a global leader in signal transmission and security solutions for mission-critical applications. Founded in 1902, the company specializes in producing high-quality cables, connectivity, and networking products. Belden’s offerings are widely used in industries such as industrial automation, enterprise, transportation, energy, and broadcast.
The design incorporates knowledge from previous Belden CIC projects and workshops with Pro AV, Belden, and creative design agency 2Heads. The project is divided into two phases:
Phase 1 covers six standardized meeting rooms, including the Validation Lab, Training Room, PoC Room, Boardroom, and Meeting Rooms 1 and 2.
Phase 2 includes six additional systems for interactive and immersive experiences, like the Welcome Screen, Belden Eye, Open Area Audio, Community Wall, Infinity, and the Senior Sales Office. A central equipment rack housing centralized equipment will support all systems. The design is based on Crestron NVX technology, which provides scalability, future proofing, and the ability to share AV sources across the site.
WHAT DID THE CLIENT WANT TO ACHIEVE?
Belden aimed to create an innovative and engaging workspace in their Bangalore office, integrating advanced AV technology to foster collaboration, enhance communication, and make a lasting impression on both employees and visitors.
Their vision involved transforming meeting and training rooms with state-of-the-art audio-visual systems to boost efficiency and interactivity. They sought to make boardrooms more dynamic through high-definition displays and integrated control systems, ensuring a professional atmosphere for discussions and presentations.
A key objective was the Belden Eye, an interactive square display in a circular outlet at the entrance designed to engage users with accessible company information and create a memorable first impression.
Belden wanted to leverage advanced technology to deliver a unique visual experience that enhanced the office’s aesthetic appeal. Additionally, they aimed to strengthen the sense of community among employees by highlighting company achievements and milestones.
Belden’s goal was to innovate and modernize their office environment, ensuring technology played a central role in enhancing productivity, communication, and employee engagement.
SCOPE OF WORK YOUR COMPANY WAS INVOLVED IN
Our company completed an AV integration project for Belden’s Bangalore office, focusing on innovation and user-friendly design to enhance the workspace. We upgraded meeting and training rooms with advanced audio-visual systems, enabling seamless connectivity and high-quality video conferencing to boost collaboration and interactivity. In boardrooms, we installed high-definition displays and sophisticated control systems, creating a professional environment for presentations and decision-making. Our scope involved the following areas of AV. Validation Lab, training Room, PoC Room, Board Room, Meeting Rooms, Senior Sales Offices, Welcome Screen, Belden Eye, Open Area Audio, Community Wall, Infinity, and Centralized AV Rack to support all systems. the entire system was built on AV over IP, which offers excellent scalability and future-proofing, as well as the ability to easily show AV sources across the Site. A highlight of the project is the Belden Eye, a circular, touch-based display at the entrance. It acts as an interactive hub, allowing users to access company information. The Infinity Wall features projection mapping on a curved 270-degree surface, delivering an immersive visual experience with dynamic content that elevates the office’s aesthetic appeal.
WHAT KEY CHALLENGES WERE FACED?
This project presented a few challenges for us:
Technological Complexity: Integrating diverse AV systems, such as high-definition displays, interactive touchscreens, and projection mapping, into a cohesive and user-friendly solution requires meticulous planning and technical expertise. Ensuring seamless compatibility between different components and technologies was crucial to delivering a smooth user experience.
Space Constraints: The existing office layout presented limitations in terms of space available for equipment installation and cable management. We had to devise creative solutions to optimize space utilization while ensuring the functionality and aesthetics of the AV setup.
Timeline and Budget: Meeting Belden’s expectations within the allocated budget and timeframe was a significant challenge. Balancing the desired features and functionality with cost considerations required careful planning and resource allocation.
Technical Expertise: The project demanded a team of skilled technicians and engineers with expertise in AV integration, Projection Mapping, Crestron NVX technology, and programming. Ensuring the availability of such expertise was crucial for successful project execution.
HOW WERE THOSE CHALLENGES RESOLVED?
We overcame the challenges through planning and our technical expertise. We adopted a phased approach, integrating systems and testing each component before proceeding. Close collaboration between all stakeholders ensured seamless compatibility and smooth user experiences. Creative solutions like utilizing ceiling-mounted projectors, discreetly placed speakers, and cable management systems maximized space utilization while maintaining aesthetics.
Detailed project planning, resource allocation, and regular progress tracking ensured the project stayed on schedule and within budget.
A dedicated team of certified technicians and engineers with specialized knowledge in AV integration and Crestron NVX technology was aligned. Continuous training and support from technology partners further enhanced the team’s capabilities. Extensive research, testing, and collaboration led to the development of customized content and calibration techniques for the Infinity Wall, resulting in a visually stunning and immersive experience. Comprehensive training sessions and user manuals were provided to Belden’s staff, ensuring they were equipped to operate and maintain the AV systems effectively. Ongoing support and troubleshooting mechanisms were also established to address any future issues.
