PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Raj Sabhagruh complex, located in a spiritual ashram in India, is a multifaceted event space featuring a main auditorium with a capacity of 5750 people, four classrooms, two multipurpose spaces, a meditation hall, a visitor auditorium, and a VIP lounge. The complex is equipped with advanced audiovisual systems, including AVoverIP, allowing for unified broadcasting and simultaneous small events. The main auditorium’s audio system is designed for flexibility, featuring a Dante backbone, Allen and Heath Avantis Digital Mixing Console, and a speaker system with Adamson E12 & E219 and Lab Gruppen amplifiers. The video system includes a curved LED backdrop, side LEDs, Novastar H5 Video Wall Splicer, and Hirender video management servers, offering effortless control and synchronization of video content. The system also features Blackmagic Constellation 4K switcher, BMD 12G SDI to fibre converters, and Lightware’s Fiber Extender for reliable signal distribution. A dedicated network supports Dante and control signals, utilizing Netgear AV Line switches in redundancy. This sophisticated design ensures exceptional sound quality, an immersive visual experience, and effortless control, making the Raj Sabhagruh complex an ideal spiritual hub for large events.
WHAT DID THE CLIENT WANT TO ACHIEVE?
The project required exceptional audio clarity and sound intelligibility due to the spiritual organization’s focus on speeches. The design needed to accommodate 4K 60fps video distribution and camera broadcasting throughout the complex. Through multiple briefings and iterations, the focus was on integrating cutting-edge technology, ease of use for non-professional staff, and user-friendly interfaces. A key objective was achieving an even sound pressure level (SPL) throughout the expansive auditorium, with a required SPL of 100 dB during music sessions. To achieve this, the team:
– Evaluated various speaker brands
– Conducted EASE simulations
– Listened to speakers
– Spent six months assessing options before finalizing a conclusive system design

WHAT KEY CHALLENGES WERE FACED?
The key challenges faced during this project were:
1. Achieving a sleek, sound-integrated design while concealing speakers behind a fabric-covered proscenium requires careful planning and execution.
2. Installing a complex hoist system at a height of 18 meters to suspend the speaker cluster demanded precision, expertise, and careful planning to ensure a safe and secure installation.
3. Coordinating overlapping work with multiple vendors, including civil, interior, and fabrication teams, to meet a tight timeline while prioritizing equipment safety amidst the complexity of concurrent tasks.
These challenges required careful attention to detail, precise planning, and expertise to ensure a successful outcome.
HOW WERE THOSE CHALLENGES RESOLVED?
A key challenge was integrating hidden speakers behind acoustically transparent fabric in the proscenium, requiring precise planning and collaboration with architects, acousticians, and the Adamson team. The goal was to accurately position the speakers within the proscenium, achieving uniform sound distribution throughout the auditorium while balancing aesthetic considerations with sound quality.
– Through meticulous planning, coordination, and communication, we successfully addressed the challenges of the tight timeline and multi-agency collaboration. Key strategies included:
-Regular progress meetings with all vendors to ensure alignment and address potential issues. Implementing a robust safety protocol to protect equipment and personnel
