The Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya (IIM-BG) is an autonomous public business school in Bodhgaya, India.
It is the 16th Indian Institute of Management(IIM). Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi recently inaugurated the state-of-the-art campus at IIM Bodh Gaya.

We were allowed to be the AV integrator for tailored AV solutions at IIM Bodh Gaya’s campus, significantly enhancing its multimedia capabilities and ensuring a superior user experience. Their comprehensive installation includes A 500-seater auditorium equipped with advanced audiovisual systems for events and presentations, smart classrooms designed to accommodate 90 to 150 students, providing an interactive and engaging learning environment, state-of-the-art facilities in the conference room, board room, meeting room, and VIP lounge, all featuring cutting-edge AV technology for seamless communication and collaboration. We have delivered AV solutions in more than 20 Classrooms, eight meeting rooms, four boardrooms, the Auditorium, the Gym area, common areas, research labs, and multi-purpose halls across the space, but for better clarity, we have focused on areas with complexity & depth -the Auditorium, the Largest Classroom, the Boardroom, etc.

What did the client want to achieve?

IIM BG wanted to create a future-ready campus by deploying advanced AV technology across key spaces, including auditoriums, classrooms, boardrooms, conference rooms, and common areas. The primary goal is to enhance communication, collaboration, and learning experiences with seamless AV integration tailored for both academic and administrative needs.

In the auditoriums, the institute requires immersive displays, high-quality audio systems, and simple control interfaces to host lectures, cultural events, and seminars with Pro AV support. For classrooms, the focus is on enabling smart learning through interactive displays, wireless content sharing, and audio solutions to support hybrid teaching and student engagement.
The boardrooms/conference rooms will be equipped with modern video conferencing systems, PTZ cameras, professional microphones, and unified control systems to ensure smooth collaboration with external and internal stakeholders.

In the common spaces, the institute plans to install audio systems, displays, and background music systems to enhance campus communication, provide real-time updates, and create a dynamic campus environment.

We were entrusted with the comprehensive AV integration for this project. The scope encompassed end-to-end delivery, starting from cabling and infrastructure setup to final equipment installation, configuration, commissioning, and user training. ISSPL ensured that the AV systems were seamlessly integrated to meet the functional and technological needs of a modern educational and collaborative environment. The project delivered a high-performance AV infrastructure tailored for immersive learning and collaboration.

What Key Challenges were faced?

Implementing a comprehensive AV solution across IIM-BG presented a few challenges that required careful planning and execution. One of the primary challenges is integration across diverse spaces from auditoriums to classrooms, boardrooms, and common areas, each with unique audio/video, usage patterns, and technology requirements.

Scalability and future-proofing are also significant concerns. The systems need to accommodate evolving teaching methods, hybrid learning, and new collaboration technologies without frequent overhauls.

Another challenge is network infrastructure readiness. Modern AV solutions rely heavily on network-based signal distribution, requiring robust bandwidth, structured cabling, and secure IP management to ensure seamless operation, which was addressed during the design stage itself.

User-friendliness & training pose additional hurdles, but with the proper hand-holding, the transition was smooth with minimum dependence on technical support.

Lastly, coordinating the project, as we are based in Delhi, but the execution was done in the east region, was challenging due to the need for timely material arrangement and resource mobilisation. Nevertheless, Vallect ensured seamless & timely project delivery with minimised gaps & absolute customer satisfaction.

How were those challenges resolved?

To successfully overcome the challenges of AV integration at IIM-BG, we followed the following approach:

• For diverse space integration, we conducted detailed site assessments for designing & deploying tailored AV solutions.
• To address scalability and future-proofing, we suggested in networking & audio technologies to ensure flexibility for future expansions, upgrades, and easy integration of new technologies.
• Addressing network infrastructure readiness involves collaborating with the IT team early in the project to upgrade cabling, bandwidth, and switches, ensuring network reliability and AV signal stability.
• For user-friendliness, the solution was to deploy centralised control systems with simple user interfaces and offer comprehensive training sessions for faculty and administrative staff. This minimises the learning curve and operational complexity.
• Lastly, streamline stakeholder coordination through a dedicated project management team, regular progress reviews, and clear communication channels to align all parties and keep the project on track.

How has your work helped the client

The comprehensive AV integration at IIM-BG has transformed the campus experience for students, faculty, and administrators. By implementing tailored solutions for each space, Vallect has created a seamless learning and collaboration environment that meets both academic and administrative needs.

In auditoriums, the advanced AV setup has enabled the college to host large-scale events, guest lectures, seminars, multi-disciplinary and cultural programs, enhancing audience engagement.

The newly developed training facility is a forward-thinking approach to education infrastructure, combining comprehensive design with advanced technology to support both in-person and hybrid learning environments. At its core is a centrally located auditorium equipped with an active LED video wall, Line Array audio systems, and inclusive assistive listening technology, providing a seamless experience for seminars and large gatherings. Surrounding this space are versatile smart classrooms and training labs, featuring high-brightness laser projection, digital annotation displays, network-based zoom cameras, and interactive control systems—all tailored to flexible group sizes. The facility also includes dedicated conference rooms fitted with Microsoft Teams Room setups and plug-and-play huddle spaces to accommodate executive and informal collaboration. Operational technology is thoughtfully embedded throughout, with digital signage and room scheduling systems streamlining communication and space management. Completing the experience are 132 hotel-style guest rooms, transforming the venue into a full-service destination for extended learning programs.

What did the client want to achieve?

The client set out to create a hybrid-capable training facility designed to meet modern collaboration demands while remaining adaptable to future educational advancements. Central to their vision was the seamless integration of Microsoft Teams Rooms across multiple spaces, supported by robust backend systems featuring synchronised control, high-performance video conferencing, advanced Digital Signal Processors (DSPs), and intuitive touch panels. These elements allowed instructors and administrators to manage AV functions with ease, including camera operations, content routing, and sound control. To ensure outstanding visual performance, the facility supports uniform content distribution through high-lumen laser projectors and enhanced display surfaces, aided by low-latency Lightware Taurus and HDBaseT-based signal management. Prioritising inclusivity, assistive listening systems were embedded throughout learning areas alongside high-fidelity audio reinforcement using ceiling and pendant speakers, line arrays, and professional amplifiers. The BITS – Pilani, Mumbai Campus is a modern, state-of-the-art residential educational complex located in Pawshepada, Kamba, Kalyan, District Thane, Maharashtra. A key feature of the ongoing development is Academic Block 02, for which the project encompasses the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of an advanced Audio-Visual (AV) system. The AV works include equipping smart classrooms, seminar halls, and lecture theatres with modern interactive displays, high-quality sound reinforcement, video conferencing facilities, and integrated control systems. These installations aim to foster interactive learning, support hybrid education models, and provide seamless connectivity across campus. The AV infrastructure is designed to enhance both in-person and remote teaching experiences, keeping in line with global standards.

The project timeline was extremely tight, requiring rapid progress with no allowance for delays, in line with the overall campus development plan.

To meet deadlines, Cosmos Business Machines deployed a skilled team of 15 engineers, 2 programmers and a project manager working day and night in shifts, ensuring continuous installation, configuration, and testing. The complexity of integrating advanced AV technologies required meticulous system synchronisation and programming, which was challenging under time constraints.

Additionally, managing coordination among architects, interior consultants, project management, and various contractors was critical. Strong communication and flexibility were essential to overcome on-site issues and dependencies.

Despite these hurdles, robust planning, dedicated manpower, and persistent effort enabled Cosmos Business Machines to deliver a state-of-the-art AV infrastructure on time, supporting the BITS campus’s vision of a technologically advanced learning environment.

Project Overview

The Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER) are a group of premier public institutions in India dedicated to the promotion of high-quality science education and research. Established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (now the Ministry of Education), IISERs are intended to be the country’s leading institutions in science education and research.

IISER is present in multiple cities in India – Kolkata, Pune, Mohali, Bhopal, Tirupati, Berhampur, & Thiruvananthapuram.

As India’s premier university for elite students, their expectations from AV solutions were very high, and they wanted technologically advanced but easy-to-operate solutions for their various classrooms and auditoriums.

What did the client want to achieve?

The client aimed to equip multiple classrooms (60, 150, and 300 PAX) and a state-of-the-art auditorium with advanced audio and video systems to enhance learning and presentation experiences. Key requirements included an intelligible audio system with ceiling directional microphones for crisp, clear sound at every seat. For the video, the client requested presenter tracking, lecture recording, live streaming, and multiple large motorised screens for impactful displays. All AV equipment would be seamlessly integrated and controlled via an intuitive graphic interface on a wireless iPad for easy operation. The auditorium also required advanced stage lighting and special effects for cultural programs. Overall, the goal was to deliver outstanding AV quality and user-friendly operation for diverse group sizes and functions.

Scope of work your company was involved in

SITC of complete AV & stage lighting systems was done in these areas:

*60 PAX – 8 Classrooms: Narrow vertical dispersion column array speakers for clear sound, ceiling microphone tiles for presenter voice lift, gooseneck mics for podiums, wireless handheld mics for audience, and an HD projector with motorised screens for vibrant presentations.

*150 PAX – 4 Classrooms:
Includes all 60 PAX features plus presenter tracking via multiple PTZ cameras, lecture recording, live streaming, multiple large motorised screens, and seamless touch control integration.

*300 PAX – 1 Classroom:
Features of 150 PAX plus teleprompters and video confidence monitors on portable trolleys for presenters.

*Auditorium:
State-of-the-art audio, video, and stage lighting for speeches, movies, cultural events, and live bands. Deployed Bose line array speakers, front fill speakers, stage monitors, subwoofers, powered by digital amplifiers. The system included digital signal processors, wireless microphones with antenna systems, and robust mixing consoles. Video setup included a large motorised screen with a Christie high-lumen projector, full camera recording, presenter tracking, and iPad-based AV control. Advanced stage lighting and motorised curtains completed the setup.

What Key Challenges were faced?

Installing the AV system at the IISER Tirupati auditorium presented unique challenges. With ceiling works and acoustics already completed, we had to precisely integrate our equipment without disturbing existing structures, ensuring acoustic quality and ceiling integrity. The absence of scaffolding made mounting ceiling devices like the Christie 18,500 ANSI lumens projector and PTZ cameras difficult; we relied on lifts and temporary supports for safe installation. As no on-site electrical work was permitted, we routed power cables within the existing setup, ensuring compatibility without modifications. Cable management was critical—we planned and executed the layout for HDMI, Cat-6, and other cables to maintain reliable connections and avoid clutter. Coordinating with different contractors, scheduling efficiently, and working within infrastructure limitations ensured our work did not disrupt ongoing activities. Despite these challenges, we delivered a high-quality AV system that fully met the client’s requirements.

How were those challenges resolved?

To integrate our equipment with the pre-existing ceiling works and acoustics without causing disruption, we conducted thorough site assessments and detailed planning sessions. Our team collaborated closely with the client and other contractors to understand the limitations and requirements of the existing setup, ensuring we maintained the room’s acoustic integrity and ceiling structure.

To address the absence of scaffolding, we discussed this issue with the client, who introduced us to a contractor. The contractor arranged temporary lifts, enabling us to safely and accurately position ceiling-mounted devices such as the Christie 18,500 ANSI lumens projector, PTZ cameras and other ceiling-related works.

Finally, to coordinate with other contractors and work within the existing infrastructure, we held regular meetings and maintained open lines of communication. This ensured that our installation activities were well-timed and did not interfere with other ongoing projects. By fostering a collaborative environment, we were able to address issues promptly and keep the project on track.

Through careful planning, innovative solutions, and close collaboration, we successfully resolved the challenges and delivered a high-quality AV system for the auditorium.

How has your work helped the client

We installed advanced AV systems in the auditorium and lecture halls, featuring high-definition projectors, large screens, and a variety of microphones. This improved the clarity of presentations and audio quality, making lectures more engaging. The systems include PTZ cameras and lecture capture devices for high-quality recording and streaming, supporting remote learning. Our scalable, future-proof AV infrastructure allows easy upgrades and expansions. Additionally, user-friendly designs and staff training reduced the need for technical support, ensuring smooth operation and minimal downtime, thereby improving overall teaching and learning experiences.

What are you most proud of about the project?

We are most proud of our ability to overcome significant challenges and deliver a highly advanced, reliable, and user-friendly AV system in a timely manner. Successfully integrating our equipment with pre-existing ceiling works and acoustics without disrupting the existing structures was a notable achievement.

We also take pride in our innovative solutions, such as using mobile lifts and temporary supports in the absence of scaffolding, and seamlessly integrating with the existing electrical setup.

Furthermore, the positive impact on the institution, enhancing both in-person and remote learning experiences, and the ability to future-proof their AV infrastructure, stands as a testament to our team’s expertise and dedication. Project Overview

Over the last 3-4 years, Actis has partnered with Ahmedabad University to deliver UC-enabled classrooms, a multipurpose hall with retractable bleachers and a networked audio system for building-wide announcements. This new phase builds on that foundation with two advanced AV environments: a 200-seater auditorium and a 100-seater lecture hall.

The auditorium is one of the first in India’s education sector to offer a fully touchless AV experience. Users can walk in, speak naturally and be heard clearly throughout the room and online, no lapel or handheld mics needed. Ceiling mics, ceiling and line-array speakers and intelligent audio zoning deliver seamless sound across various interaction modes like lectures, panels and audience Q&As. A 2.5mm pixel pitch, 23′ x 12′ active LED video wall creates immersive visuals, while automated PTZ cameras support hybrid sessions.

The 100-seater lecture hall features dual WUXGA 8000 lumens projectors, dual 123″ motorised screens, two ceiling tile microphones, nine in-ceiling speakers, a PTZ camera and an iPad-based control interface, creating a high-performance, user-friendly teaching environment.

At Ahmedabad University, our work has transformed a conventional auditorium into a powerful, inclusive learning space where tech empowers every voice.

What did the client want to achieve?

Ahmedabad University sought to create a future-ready auditorium that could support evolving teaching, learning and collaboration methods. The goal was to deliver a seamless, hands-free user experience that would eliminate the need for complex setups before events, whether for professors delivering lectures, students hosting panel discussions, or hybrid conferences with remote participants.

The client also emphasised the need for high speech intelligibility across the space, including from individuals with soft voices, without the hassle of handheld or lapel microphones. They envisioned a system where the environment itself becomes responsive, automatically adjusting audio and video based on how the space is being used.

They wanted the auditorium to be flexible enough to adapt to different event formats, including traditional speaker sessions, audience-driven interactions and conventional mic-led setups, all while maintaining exceptional clarity and ease of use.

Visually, the university desired a display solution that was immersive and suited for both educational content and media-rich presentations, reinforcing their status as a forward-thinking academic institution.

We led the supply, integration, programming and commissioning of a complete AV ecosystem for the auditorium, encompassing advanced audio capture, intelligent processing and vibrant visual display systems to create a seamless, hands-free user experience.

Our scope included:

Designing a hands-free mic and speaker setup using ceiling tile microphones, line-array speakers and ceiling speakers, synchronised with audio delay to ensure clarity across the hall.

Programming dynamic audio modes that auto-activate mic and speaker zones based on session type.

What Key Challenges were faced?

The greatest challenge lay in delivering a seamless, hands-free audio experience in a large, acoustically reflective auditorium without compromising clarity, especially during multi-speaker sessions and live Q&As.

Using ceiling microphones with both line-array and ceiling speakers required advanced echo control, feedback suppression and precise sound level calibration across the space. Ceiling mics are prone to picking up ambient noise and reverb, which makes clarity, especially when amplified, technically demanding.

Programming dynamic audio modes for lectures, Q&As and panel discussions without manual switching introduced further complexity. Each mode needed to trigger specific mic and speaker zones based on real-time activity.

A key hurdle was ensuring reliable voice-lift, even for soft-spoken speakers seated over 6 metres away, while keeping latency and distortion minimal.

On the usability front, all this had to remain invisible to faculty, achieved by simplifying backend complexity into intuitive one-touch presets.

Finally, installing a large-format video wall presented thermal, visual and electrical integration challenges, particularly around consistent visibility, heat dissipation and compatibility with existing infrastructure.

How were those challenges resolved?

We met the challenge with precision design, premium components and expert programming. For hands-free audio, we used zone-based pickup and reinforcement with DSPs managing gain, ambient noise rejection and automatic mic gating.

Beamformed ceiling mics focused on active speech zones, while delay-tuned ceiling and line-array speakers prevented hot spots and feedback. A smart matrix ensured microphones and speakers in the same zone never operated in conflicting configurations, avoiding echoes and phasing.

Event flexibility was achieved via intuitive presets that triggered calibrated combinations of mic groups, speaker zones, PTZ camera focus and lighting, all switchable at the press of a button.

To amplify soft-spoken voices without distortion or lag, we optimised voice-lift and added front fills and stage monitors for presenter comfort.

The video wall’s heat dissipation and visibility were resolved with structural modifications and an optimised layout to ensure full-room visibility.

Finally, rigorous simulation, testing and faculty training ensured a system that was powerful yet user-friendly.

How has your work helped the client

Our AV solution has revolutionised how Ahmedabad University hosts lectures and events. The auditorium is now truly frictionless, where presenters no longer wear lapel mics or adjust sound levels. They walk up, speak naturally, and the system ensures they’re heard clearly throughout the space and online.

This touchless experience has boosted inclusivity and spontaneity. Even soft-spoken voices from the back rows are audible, fostering an equitable, engaging learning environment. With a single button press, faculty can switch between lecture, talk show, or hybrid Q&A modes, allowing seamless event transitions without AV support.

The 23’ x 12’ active LED wall enhances content delivery with vivid, immersive visuals that elevate every presentation. Programming and automation reduce dependency on technical staff, making the space easy to operate and instantly accessible.

Ahmedabad University now has a self-service, marquee venue that reflects its commitment to innovation in education.

What are you most proud of about the project?

We are most proud of pioneering a completely hands-free AV environment in an Indian educational institution, a first of its kind in both scale and execution. By seamlessly integrating ceiling microphones and speakers with a line-array system and achieving real-time, mode-specific audio zoning with impeccable clarity, we pushed the boundaries of what’s possible in an academic auditorium.

The meticulous audio programming that enabled soft-spoken participants to be heard across the space, without wearing a mic, is a technical achievement that exemplifies our team’s commitment to innovation and excellence.

We are also proud that this installation not only meets the client’s present needs but is future-ready, adaptable and straightforward to use. Project Overview

We successfully executed Phase 1 of the Audio-Visual integration project at SRM Institute of Science & Technology, Chennai, valued at ₹4.95 crores. The objective was to deliver a next-generation smart educational ecosystem that enhances interactive learning, collaboration, and hybrid teaching capabilities for both students and faculty.

This comprehensive AV implementation covered multiple learning environments, including smart classrooms, multipurpose halls, and tech-enabled auditoriums. The integration focused on seamless content sharing, high-quality audio and video conferencing, live streaming, and intuitive control systems. Technologies like interactive displays, advanced AV switching, PTZ cameras, and professional-grade audio systems were used to ensure an immersive and efficient learning experience.

Phase 1 set a solid foundation by enabling lecture capture, remote teaching through Zoom, centralised control, and real-time audience interaction. Encouraged by the success of Phase 1, Phase 2 of the project has already commenced, underscoring the institute’s commitment to transforming education through technology.

What did the client want to achieve?

The client aimed to harness the power of modern technology to transform the educational environment, making it more interactive, accessible, and effective for both professors and students. Their vision was to enhance teaching methods through advanced digital tools that support seamless content delivery, real-time collaboration, and improved student engagement.

Scope of work your company was involved in

We were tasked with designing and executing the setup of classrooms and multipurpose spaces across the entire building, ensuring top-quality results throughout the process.

What Key Challenges were faced?

We were onboarded a little late in the project, and by this time, all the allied agencies had completed their work, which included Raceways, power, Lan, Wall finishes, etc.

How were those challenges resolved?

To ensure minimal disruption to ongoing work, we collaborated closely with other agencies through multiple workshops and agreed on a well-coordinated plan. In cases where modifying completed work wasn’t possible, we adjusted by relocating AV equipment as needed. Despite these constraints, we successfully delivered a high-quality implementation.

How has your work helped the client

Post-implementation, professors are now delivering lectures more effectively with the support of technology, confident that their content is clearly seen and heard by all students. They comfortably teach groups of over 150 students, and the interactive displays enable them to annotate live, making their explanations more engaging and dynamic.

What are you most proud of about the project?

We are most proud of how we successfully transformed SRM Institute’s vision into a functional, future-ready educational ecosystem, despite significant execution challenges. Being onboarded after the completion of civil and allied works could have posed severe limitations. Still, through proactive collaboration, agile planning, and smart adaptability, we turned a challenging situation into a seamless integration success story.

The real achievement lies in how the implemented AV solutions are now empowering faculty to teach more effectively and engage large student groups with ease. The integration of technologies like interactive displays, high-quality audio systems, and multi-camera switching has significantly enhanced the classroom experience, making learning more dynamic, inclusive, and tech-enabled.

Moreover, the fact that the institute immediately initiated Phase 2 following the success of Phase 1 is a testament to their satisfaction and confidence in our capabilities. This progression validates our efforts and showcases our ability to deliver value-driven, scalable AV solutions for large educational institutions.
