Avantika by the Ganges, Varanasi by IHCL SeleQtions is a luxury hotel set by the banks of the Ganges, reflects the enduring grace of Varanasi (Kashi). This 28 rooms property offer uninterrupted views of the sacred River Ganga, one of the most sought-after luxurious hotel in Varanasi. Thoughtfully inspired by the ancient sounds of Na, Ma, Si, Va, Ya, every room and suite reflects the harmony of the five elements – Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Ether. Overlooking the timeless river and the spiritual heart of the city, these rooms invite moments of reflection, renewal, and connection – placing you close to Varanasi’s most revered temples, ghats, and cultural landmarks.

The project is a newly established hotel and subject to the requirement, we have provided AV services in all the areas of the property.

What did the client want to achieve?

The client intends to build Audio & Visual solutions in multiple areas like Reception & Lobby Lounge, Public area, Office space, Restaurant, Banquet Space, Meeting Room, Dining, Outdoor space with ganga view, Gym, Spa, Terrace etc. These were focused areas that would gather maximum number of gatherings and client wanted to equip them with soothing BGM with cost effective solution. The objective is not simply to provide background music, but to create a consistent, controllable and location-responsive audio that enhances the hotel’s identity & guest experience while allowing the natural character of the Ganga-facing property to remain the hero.

Scope of work your company was involved in

Our technical drawings are essential to communicate the ideas of industry and engineering, easy to understand at the same time. A detailed guide with drawing was shared with the client on how the system is going to function such as system architecture & signal flow – how different AV systems, devices and subsystems communicate and interact, cabling & connectivity, racks deployment in areas, specifications fitting the requirement, product to be placed at – location, height, its uses and interface, after sales services, safety & regulatory considerations, industry compliance etc. Our designing is basically done in different stages like:

Stage A – Concept Design – The concepts were developed in close coordination with the Client and Interior Design teams to meet functional, operational, and aesthetic requirements.

Stage B – Detailed Design & Development – Prepared detailed AV layouts, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, schematics, signal flow diagrams, equipment schedules, and system functionality documents.

Stage C – Tender Documentation – Prepared complete AV tender documentation, including technical specifications, Bills of Quantities (BOQ), approved make lists, system descriptions, and tender drawings, enabling accurate procurement and successful project execution.

What key challenges were faced?

The property is extensive and includes multiple public spaces. These areas are spread out across different blocks or sections within the property.

1) The client wanted to deploy a premium Bose audio system in the functional hall to achieve high-quality and consistent sound coverage. The functional hall had a false ceiling with limited available height, creating constraints for the installation of the required speakers, subwoofers and associated infrastructure. The audio system had to be integrated without compromising the architectural aesthetics, ceiling design or functionality of the space. Additional coordination was required with the Interior Design and MEP teams to identify and release suitable ceiling space for the AV infrastructure.

2) The outdoor plantation and Ghat-side areas presented a different challenge, requiring an audio solution suitable for an open, weather-exposed environment.

How were those challenges resolved?

1) The functional hall had limited ceiling height due to the false ceiling, which created challenges in accommodating the speakers. Multiple rounds of coordination were conducted with the Interior Design (ID) and MEP teams to identify feasible locations and work out the required space. Based on the discussions, dedicated cut-outs were provided in the false ceiling, allowing the speakers to be seamlessly integrated. The false ceiling also restricted the installation of a mountable projector; hence, the client had taken only a screen. The client now uses their own portable projector based on the requirements they have in the hotel at the moment.

2) For the Ghat-facing plantation and outdoor wellness areas, the audio solution was designed to complement the natural surroundings. Weather-resistant speakers were strategically positioned to provide consistent and discreet audio coverage, enabling guests to experience soft classical and calming background music.

How has your work helped the client?

Overall, the approach helped the client maximize the use of available spaces, integrate technology seamlessly with the architecture, enhance guest experience, and achieve a practical, maintainable and future-ready AV solution.

What are you most proud of about the project?

We are most proud of delivering a complex, enterprise-grade government AV integration from concept through commissioning within a demanding schedule and site environment.

The project successfully unified professional sound reinforcement, Dante networking, DSP, wireless microphones, fine-pitch LED visualization, PTZ cameras, streaming infrastructure, a digital podium, and centralized control into a single operational platform.

What makes this achievement particularly significant is balancing technical sophistication with operational simplicity. Behind the scenes, the system incorporates advanced technologies; for everyday users, the auditorium operates seamlessly through an intuitive central touch interface.

We take great pride in the audio engineering—where acoustic tuning, speaker placement, and DSP optimization combined to deliver exceptional speech clarity—as well as the structural integration of the custom 16’ × 9’ fine-pitch LED display into the stage architecture.

Ultimately, this project highlights our capability to manage high-demand government installations, coordinate multiple disciplines under tight constraints, and deliver an advanced, highly practical AV ecosystem.

The L-Acoustics L2 line array system, supported by strategically positioned delay arrays and subwoofers, was suspended approximately 60 feet above the congregation, preserving the venue’s aesthetics while delivering outstanding performance. We also integrated a grandMA3 lighting control system and MADRIX LUNA 8 network interface for synchronized lighting operations. Today,NLAG Church installation stands as one of the world’s largest L-Acoustics L2 deployments.

The scope of work included the supply and installation of L-Acoustics loudspeakers, subwoofers, amplified controllers, audio processing equipment, mixing consoles, networking components, cabling, rigging hardware, control interfaces, and all associated accessories required for a fully integrated system. Only genuine L-Acoustics products were used to ensure optimum compatibility, reliability, and performance. We installed, configured, aligned, and acoustically optimized the system to achieve the specified sound pressure levels, coverage, speech intelligibility, and overall audio performance. All work was executed in accordance with professional AV industry standards, manufacturer guidelines, and applicable safety regulations, while coordinating closely with the client to meet project schedules. Following installation, comprehensive testing, commissioning, and performance verification were carried out to ensure every component met the approved design specifications before final handover, delivering a reliable, high-performance audio solution for one of India’s largest worship venues.

How were those challenges resolved?

We overcame these challenges through detailed acoustic planning, advanced system design, and precise execution. Comprehensive acoustic modelling and system simulations were conducted to determine the optimum loudspeaker configuration, coverage angles, and placement, ensuring uniform sound distribution and exceptional speech intelligibility throughout the 25,000+ seat auditorium.The L-Acoustics L2 line array system was selected for its wide horizontal coverage and long-throw performance, providing consistent audio while minimizing overlap and phase interference. Strategically positioned delay systems ensured synchronized sound and tonal consistency across the entire venue.The main line arrays, delay systems, and subwoofers were installed approximately 60 feet above the congregation using engineered rigging solutions and precision alignment techniques. Comprehensive system tuning and optimization ensured balanced sound pressure levels, seamless system integration, and outstanding vocal clarity.

To preserve the architectural aesthetics of the worship space, all major audio components were discreetly integrated into the venue, remaining largely invisible while maintaining optimum acoustic performance.

We also carried out an intensive one-week Integrated Testing and Commissioning (ITC) process to fine-tune and validate the performance of every component, ensuring flawless operation before handover. We designed and executed a large-scale media façade lighting solution for Deltin Royale, one of India’s most iconic floating entertainment destinations in Goa. The project transformed the casino vessel into a visually captivating nighttime landmark through synchronized architectural lighting and dynamic media façade effects across its exterior.

The installation integrated thousands of programmable LED dot lights, architectural wash lighting, intelligent lighting controls, P3 processing technology and custom-engineered mounting structures to deliver a seamless visual experience in a challenging marine environment.

A defining feature of the project was the creation of a programmable digital canvas capable of displaying synchronized lighting animations, event-specific themes and dynamic visual effects that enhance the vessel’s identity while reinforcing Deltin Royale’s premium entertainment brand.

Delivered within an accelerated 30-day execution schedule, the project successfully transformed Deltin Royale into a striking illuminated attraction that enhances guest experience, strengthens brand visibility and has become a distinctive visual icon along Goa’s waterfront.

What did the client want to achieve?

Waterways Shipyard Pvt. Ltd. wanted to transform Deltin Royale into a visually distinctive entertainment destination that would create a memorable first impression and reinforce its position as India’s premier floating casino.

The objective was to enhance the vessel’s nighttime visibility through dynamic architectural lighting capable of attracting attention from across Goa’s waterfront while delivering an immersive arrival experience for guests. The client also wanted the flexibility to display synchronized lighting themes for festivals, celebrations, special events and brand campaigns.

Given the marine environment, reliability and durability were critical. The lighting system had to withstand humidity, salt exposure, weather conditions and continuous operation while maintaining consistent performance with minimal maintenance.

The project also had to be completed within a compressed schedule without compromising engineering quality, safety or visual impact.

Scope of work your company was involved in

We were responsible for the complete design, engineering, fabrication, supply, installation, integration, programming, testing and commissioning of the media façade lighting system across the exterior of Deltin Royale.

The deployment included programmable LED dot lights, architectural wash lighting, intelligent lighting controllers, P3 processing systems, centralized lighting control architecture, power distribution and synchronized lighting programming. The team also designed and fabricated custom mounting structures to accommodate the vessel’s unique curved geometry while ensuring accurate positioning and long-term structural integrity.

The scope extended to marine-grade cable routing, waterproofing, outdoor-rated equipment installation, lighting synchronization, control programming and system commissioning. Installation involved extensive work at height using cranes, elevated work platforms and cherry pickers while maintaining strict safety standards throughout the project.

Working closely with the client, consultant, fabrication teams and installation specialists, we successfully delivered a fully integrated media façade lighting solution within an accelerated 30-day execution schedule while ensuring reliable performance in demanding coastal operating conditions.

What key challenges were faced?

The project presented several unique engineering and execution challenges due to the nature of the installation environment and the aggressive delivery timeline.

The most significant challenge was the vessel’s curved hull geometry. Unlike conventional building façades, the continuously changing contours required precise measurements, custom-designed mounting structures and meticulous alignment to ensure consistent spacing and visual continuity of the LED dot lights across the entire façade.

Installation at significant heights across the ship’s exterior introduced additional complexity. Extensive use of cranes, cherry pickers and elevated work platforms was required while maintaining strict safety procedures and minimizing disruption to other activities.

During execution, evolving design modifications—including lighting frame adjustments, device relocations and crown lighting revisions—required rapid engineering decisions without affecting project progress.

Commissioning also presented technical challenges, including CAT6 communication faults, looping cable issues and synchronization tuning. Identifying and resolving these issues quickly was essential to ensure stable operation within the compressed project timeline.

How were those challenges resolved?

We adopted a proactive engineering and project management approach to overcome the project’s technical and execution challenges.

Custom-welded mounting frames were designed and fabricated specifically to match the vessel’s curved hull, allowing precise positioning of each lighting element while maintaining consistent alignment across the façade. Detailed site measurements and continuous alignment verification ensured a seamless visual appearance despite the complex geometry.

Installation activities were carefully planned using cranes, elevated work platforms and cherry pickers, supported by comprehensive safety procedures and coordinated execution to maximize efficiency while protecting personnel and equipment.

As design requirements evolved, the team worked closely with the client and consultant to implement modifications without affecting project timelines. During commissioning, systematic testing and validation resolved communication and synchronization challenges, ensuring reliable long-term performance.

This collaborative and agile approach enabled the project to be completed successfully within the demanding 30-day schedule while delivering the desired visual impact and operational reliability.

The AV Theatre: A private reference-grade cinema featuring a 3D Dolby Atmos Meyer Sound active loudspeaker system, Dolby CP950A processor, commercial Barco 4K DCI laser projector, and Harkness perforated screen.

Tower A Amenity Zone: Multi-zone background audio and media distribution serving high-energy spaces, including the Indoor Games Room, Badminton Court, Fitness Centre, and Entrance Lobbies.

Tower B Amenity & Banquet Zone: Multi-purpose AV environments engineered for the Grand Banquet & Pre-function Area, Business Lounge, Yoga Studio, High-Impact Gym with active subwoofers, and Lobbies.

We successfully merged aesthetic sophistication, multi-zone acoustic containment, and versatile event technology, setting a new benchmark for luxury residential AV integration.

Scope of work encompassed the supply, installation, speaker positioning, DSP programming, system integration, network distribution, multi-zone testing, Dolby processor Configuration/tuning and commissioning across various spaces like:

What key challenges were faced?

• Acoustic Isolation & Sound Spill in Open Residential Amenity Zones: Managing varied acoustic environments—from high-impact gym soundscapes and reverberant indoor badminton courts to peaceful yoga studios—within adjacent spaces without cross-boundary acoustic bleed.

• Dolby Atmos Precision Alignment in a Custom Room Enclosure: Deploying a dense 3D surround sound setup comprising 36 individual speaker units (including LCRs, multiple subwoofers, and surround channels) and phase-aligning them to match Dolby commercial cinema standards within a custom private theatre layout.

• Projection Isolation & Glass Distortion: Projecting a high-lumen 4K cinema projector from a sealed projection booth into the viewing room without introducing thermal build-up, noise spill, optical distortion, or colour shift.

• Cross-Tower Multi-Zone Content Management: Standardizing audio streaming and zone management across multiple towers and distinct functional spaces so operational controls remain unified and easy to manage.

How were those challenges resolved?

• Distributed DSP & Zone-Tuned Acoustic Containment: Implemented an enterprise QSC Q-SYS DSP network (Core 110f and Core 8 Flex processors) paired with Next Audio DSP amplifiers. Each room was individually tuned using boundary-matched loudspeaker placement, delay alignment, and tight EQ notch-filtering to constrain sound pressure levels strictly to active zones.

• Precision Spatial Calibration & Processing: Utilized the dedicated Dolby CP950A processor in conjunction with Marantz AV 8805A line processing and QSC DSP output cards to fine-tune spatial positioning, crossover curves, and phase coherence for all Meyer Sound surrounds, subwoofers, and LCR channels.

• Optical Isolation Glass & Short-Throw Engineering: Installed custom 1/2″ thick Kelmar Water White Crown Glass in the booth window to eliminate optical chromatic aberration while maintaining high light transmission. High-lumen laser projectors and motorized tensioned Harkness screens were deployed for optimal contrast and wide viewing angles in both theatre and banquet settings.

• Streamlined Multi-Source Playback Architecture: Integrated dual-engine playback across amenity zones using media players for scheduled institutional content and Sonos Port units for flexible streaming, controlled centrally.

We delivered the complete professional audiovisual solution for Novotel Panjim Goa, including engineering, supply, installation, integration, configuration, programming, testing, commissioning, user training, and final handover. The implementation covered banquet halls, conference facilities, meeting rooms, and associated hospitality spaces, creating a unified AV platform across the property.

The scope included laser projection systems, commercial displays, professional audio, DSP-based audio processing, wired and wireless conferencing, HDBaseT signal distribution, centralized AV control, wireless presentation, equipment racks, and structured AV cabling. Project Overview

Located in Mumbai, the Aditya Birla Performing Arts Academy is a landmark renovation project that transformed an existing structure into a world-class performing arts venue. The building houses a Main Auditorium engineered to serve dual purposes as a live performance and drama venue as well as a DCI-compliant cinema alongside a Mini Auditorium, two rehearsal rooms, a Stereo Recording Studio, and an Atmos Recording Studio, all under one roof.

Munro was appointed as consultant and SI appointed to haneld end-to-end responsibility for the audiovisual solution, from design realization through installation, testing, and commissioning. The Main Auditorium’s audio backbone combines Meyer Sound Lina line arrays, LFC750 and 900LFC subwoofers, and UP-4slim front fills, driven by GALAXY processing, alongside a 20-channel Shure ULX-D wireless system. For cinema, Dolby Atmos surround configuration is processed through Dolby IMS3000 processing, delivering DCI-compliant playback via a Christie CP4415-RGB laser projector onto a 8.5-metre wide Severtson motorized Screen.

The result is a technically sophisticated, multi-format venue capable of hosting live theatre, concerts, and cinema-grade screenings under a single, tightly integrated AV infrastructure.

What did the client want to achieve?

The client envisioned a premium facility dedicated to recording and performing arts. While the civil structure was completed, it did not meet industry standards. Munro was engaged to assess the performance spaces using advanced methods such as 3D impulse response analysis, airborne, and vibration analysis.

Recognizing the structural limitations, and guided by the client’s brief, Munro introduced flexible design options that allowed the space to function both as a performing arts venue and an audio‑video display environment capable of delivering a DCI Atmos experience.

Designing a facility that could operate electro‑acoustically for live performance while also serving as a private preview cinema added significant complexity to both feasibility and design. Balancing these requirements with the architect’s vision and aesthetics, Munro assumed the role of technical architect and technology consultant, ensuring the integration of performance, cinema standards, and design harmony.

We were privileged to be appointed as the Systems Integrator for this prestigious project, assuming end-to-end responsibility for delivering a world-class audiovisual experience. Our comprehensive scope encompassed Solution implementation: Bringing the design to life through meticulous planning, installation, and testing.

To ensure a seamless and successful project deployment, we fostered strong collaborations with various stakeholders, including:

● Acousticians & AV Consultants (Munro Acoustics): Ensuring optimal audio quality and sound distribution.
● Architects (RMM Designs): Integrating the design with the building’s aesthetic and functional requirements.
● HVAC experts: Guaranteeing that the audiovisual systems would operate within a stable and controlled environment.
● Electrical team: Coordinating to ensure reliable power supply and electrical infrastructure.

Through these strategic partnerships, we were able to deliver a cutting-edge audiovisual solution that exceeded the client’s expectations and met the project’s stringent requirements.

What key challenges were faced?

1. Delivery of the long projection screen, which measured 9.5 meters wide with a box dimension of 2 feet by 1.5 feet weighing 560 kgs. Two motorized screens from Severtson were delivered at port in a single piece each — from the logistics of this humongous screen to delivering it on site and getting it inside the building and onto the stage was a massive challenge.

2. Precise coordination for each speaker location for Dolby requirements and correct angle, while also maintaining the aesthetics of the space and safety for mounting.

3. Coordinating overlapping work with multiple vendors, including civil, interior, and fabrication teams, to meet a tight timeline while prioritizing equipment safety amidst the complexity of concurrent tasks.

These challenges required careful attention to detail, precise planning, and expertise to ensure a successful outcome.

How were those challenges resolved?

As the venue was undergoing renovation, before placing the order and confirming delivery of the screen, we conducted a mock-up using a box of similar dimensions and used it to navigate the pre-decided route to get it inside the building and up to the 2nd floor main auditorium stage. It was carefully planned and coordinated — one wall was broken from the backstage green room to get it in, and as it was heavy, it took almost 30 people to move it onto the second floor; since it was a confined space, no machinery could be used, so it was pure coordination and planning.

Through meticulous planning, coordination, and communication, we successfully addressed the challenges posed by the tight timeline and multi-agency collaboration. Key strategies included:

● Regular progress meetings with all vendors to ensure alignment and address potential issues.
● Implementing a robust safety protocol to protect equipment and personnel.
● Assigning a dedicated project manager to oversee the overlapping work and troubleshoot any problems.
● Conducting thorough quality control checks to guarantee high standards.

By adopting these measures, we were able to deliver the project on time, without compromising on safety or quality, and ensuring a successful inauguration.

Our work has had a profoundly positive impact on the client, yielding numerous benefits. Firstly, the precisely installed speaker system has significantly enhanced the audience experience, providing optimal sound quality and an immersive experience across all seats in the auditorium. Additionally, the seamless integration of components has streamlined the user experience, offering flexibility and adaptability for diverse applications from live theatre and drama to cinema-grade screenings.

Since opening, the venue has hosted multiple successful shows and remains continuously booked for upcoming performances, a strong indicator of the reliability and audience experience the system delivers night after night.

The Social Tree at Nexus Select Citywalk, Saket, New Delhi, is one of India’s most iconic Digital Out-of-Home (DOOH) installations, integrating large-format LED displays, architectural lighting, and intelligent control systems into a landmark digital experience. Inspired by the form of a tree, the structure stands 15 metres high, spans 14 metres wide, and weighs approximately 350 tonnes.

The installation features four high-resolution LED displays with a combined display area of 181 square metres and an overall resolution of 12,096 × 1,680 pixels (12K). Designed for advanced 3D anamorphic content, the displays deliver immersive visual experiences from multiple viewing angles.

Nearly 2 kilometres of synchronized architectural LED lighting, controlled through the MADRIX platform, operates seamlessly with the displays using advanced pixel mapping and real-time synchronization.

SI supplied the complete MADRIX solution, including AURA 32, NEBULA, LUNA, ORION controllers, and the MADRIX Ultimate License, providing a reliable and scalable platform that transforms the space into an engaging destination for entertainment, branding, and immersive audience experiences.

Project Overview

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts engaged Actis Technologies to create an integrated AV ecosystem for its Mumbai hotel to enhance guest experience without competing with the architecture or interiors.

The project brought together four requirements often handled separately. In The Hedonist, Oryn and Beyond Oryn, Actis deployed Devialet loudspeakers over Dante to deliver premium sound for curated music and live entertainment. Mood Media and Pioneer DJ sources integrated within the infrastructure, giving each venue the flexibility to change its atmosphere by schedule, event or genre.

Across other guest areas, a Harman background music system provided zone-specific audio for restaurants, lounges, common areas, wellness facilities and the infinity pool. High-definition video collaboration systems supported corporate guests in the business centres.

Actis also linked the audio processing system with the fire alarm system. During an emergency, background music is muted automatically so that critical announcements take priority.

Delivered phase by phase over approximately six to eight weeks, the project unified premium hospitality audio, hotel-wide background music, business communications and life-safety integration within one coordinated solution.

What did the client want to achieve?

Fairmont Mumbai wanted technology to enhance each space while remaining discreet, reliable and simple for its team to manage.

Its signature venues needed more than conventional background sound. The audio had to reproduce curated music with clarity and depth, support live entertainment and help each restaurant or lounge create a distinct atmosphere. The wider hotel required zoned background music, with content selected by location, time, event or genre.

The hotel also serves corporate travellers, so its business centres needed dependable, high-definition video collaboration for meetings and remote participation.

These guest-facing requirements had to coexist with strict operational and life-safety needs. Entertainment and background music had to stop immediately during an emergency so that fire alarm announcements could be heard clearly.

Fairmont’s objective was to create a connected technology environment rather than isolated systems. It needed premium performance where guests would notice it, consistent control across varied spaces and dependable integration with business and safety infrastructure.

SI designed, integrated, configured and commissioned the hotel’s premium audio, background music, business collaboration and audio safety systems.

In The Hedonist, Oryn and Beyond Oryn, Actis deployed Devialet loudspeakers over a Dante digital audio network. This provided low-latency, uncompressed audio transport and allowed scheduled music services and Pioneer DJ sources to share the same infrastructure. The solution supported ambient listening and energetic entertainment without compromising sound quality.

For other guest areas, Actis implemented a Harman background music platform with independent audio zones. Restaurants, lounges, common areas, wellness facilities and outdoor spaces could receive content suited to their function while remaining centrally managed across the hotel’s varied operating environments.

SI also equipped business centres with high-definition video collaboration systems for corporate guests.

The scope included integration with the fire alarm system. Actis configured the audio processor to mute background music automatically and prioritise emergency announcements.

The work included networked audio configuration, source integration, zone programming, system testing and phased commissioning over approximately six to eight weeks.

What key challenges were faced?

The principal challenge was making several systems serving different hotel functions operate as one dependable environment.

The signature venues required premium sound for curated background music and live entertainment. Scheduled Mood Media content and Pioneer DJ sources had to be integrated without creating separate systems or adding complexity for staff.

Other hotel areas presented different acoustic and operational needs. A restaurant, lobby, wellness area and outdoor pool cannot use the same audio approach. Each space required coverage and independent control while the hotel retained centralised management.

The technology also had to respect Fairmont Mumbai’s finished interiors. Loudspeakers and infrastructure needed to complement the visual character of premium venues rather than appear as intrusive technical additions.

Finally, the audio system could not operate independently of the hotel’s life-safety infrastructure. During an emergency, background music had to stop immediately and critical announcements override audio.

SI therefore had to balance sound quality, source flexibility, zoning, aesthetics, operational simplicity and third-party safety integration within a phased programme of six to eight weeks.

How were those challenges resolved?

SI resolved the challenge by designing distinct audio experiences for spaces, then connecting them through coordinated infrastructure.

In The Hedonist, Oryn and Beyond Oryn, Devialet loudspeakers were integrated through Dante. The network carries uncompressed audio with low delay and allows flexible signal routing. Mood Media content and Pioneer DJ sources could share the backbone, supporting scheduled ambience and live entertainment without compromising quality.

The wider hotel used a Harman background music platform divided into independent zones. Each area could receive music suited to its purpose, schedule or event while remaining centrally manageable.

SI selected and positioned audio elements according to each space’s visual character. Premium Devialet systems were reserved for signature venues, while other areas used an application-appropriate background music solution.

The team also integrated the audio processor with the fire alarm system. An alarm signal automatically mutes music and prioritises emergency announcements.

Testing and commissioning were completed phase by phase, allowing SI to verify source routing, zone behaviour, audio performance and emergency override functions before handover. This reduced risk during phased delivery.

How has your work helped the client?

The project has given Fairmont Mumbai a coordinated way to manage sound, collaboration and emergency audio across the hotel.

In The Hedonist and Oryn, the Devialet and Dante solution supports curated ambience and live entertainment through one high-quality infrastructure. Fairmont reported that it significantly elevated the guest experience.

Independent audio zones allow the hotel to match music to each space’s purpose, schedule and atmosphere. This gives operations teams greater control than a single hotel-wide feed and helps maintain distinct experiences across restaurants, lounges, wellness facilities and outdoor areas.

High-definition video collaboration in the business centres helps corporate guests remain connected and productive. Fire alarm integration automatically mutes background music for emergency announcements.

We are most proud of integrating premium hospitality audio, live entertainment, hotel-wide background music, business collaboration and life-safety controls without compromising guest experience or operational simplicity.

In The Hedonist, Oryn and Beyond Oryn, Dante networking connects Devialet loudspeakers with scheduled Mood Media content and Pioneer DJ sources through one flexible audio backbone. This allows each venue to move from controlled ambience to more energetic entertainment while maintaining sound quality.

Across the wider hotel, Actis created independent Harman background music zones for restaurants, lounges, common areas, wellness facilities and outdoor spaces while retaining central management.

The system also responds automatically to the fire alarm. Normal audio is muted, and critical announcements receive priority, showing that guest experience, operational control and safety were considered together.

Fairmont reported richer, more immersive sound and a significant improvement in the guest experience at its principal venues. For us, the project demonstrates how thoughtful integration can make complex technology effective, manageable and unobtrusive.
