BUDGET: Between 1 crore INR and 4.99 crore INR (More than USD135,000 but less than USD540,000)
Project Overview
Shoolpaneshwar Ghat, located in Gora village by the Narmada River near the Shoolpaneshwar Mahadev Temple, spans roughly 131 m × 47 m. This grand riverfront is the spiritual anchor of Kevadia’s tourism circuit, designed to host the daily Narmada Maha Aarti, inspired by Varanasi’s iconic ritual.
Every evening, eight priests and seven tribal musicians perform a synchronised ritual combining Sanskrit verses, tribal music, and ornamental brass lamps — echoing the Ganga Aarti experience.
With a seating capacity of around 6,000 people, the ghat is designed to welcome large audiences, including guests who can participate as Yajman (honorary hosts) during the ceremony
.What did the client want to achieve?
The client aimed to create a world-class Aqua Screen Projection and Musical Fountain Show to elevate the visitor experience in Kevadia. By integrating advanced water, light, sound, and projection technologies, the goal was to deliver an immersive, multimedia storytelling experience that leaves a lasting impression. This initiative was designed not only to enhance the aesthetic and cultural appeal of the destination but also to increase tourist footfall, extend visitor stay duration, and strengthen Kevadia’s branding as an innovative, culturally rich tourism hub. The project supports local economic growth by indirectly benefiting businesses, transport services, and hospitality providers. It also generates direct employment opportunities for operations and maintenance staff over three years. With energy-efficient design and sustainable controls, the system offers both technological innovation and environmental responsibility. Overall, the client sought to transform a public space into a dynamic, high-impact tourism attraction aligned with Kevadia’s broader development goals.
Scope of work your company was involved in
The scope of work spanned multiple domains, ensuring a seamless blend of storytelling, heritage preservation, and immersive experience.
We began with crafting an authentic and emotionally compelling script. This was followed by the development of a detailed creative treatment — including storyboarding, character design, and visual motifs inspired by local art and architecture.
On the technical front, we led the design and installation of the 3D architectural projection mapping. Intelligent lighting design, laser effects, and 5.1 surround sound were choreographed in perfect sync using advanced show-control software to ensure emotional pacing and technical precision.
Our team also engineered and deployed custom-built hydraulic projector systems — a first-of-its-kind in such a heritage setting — allowing for zero visual intrusion during the day and full automation during the show. Importantly, all equipment and mounting solutions were designed to be non-invasive, preserving the fort’s structural integrity.
We coordinated with local authorities, artisans, and cultural stakeholders to ensure that every aspect of the show remained rooted in Maheshwar’s spirit.
What Key Challenges were faced?
1. Location
The site is close to the Narmada River and Shoolpaneshwar Wildlife Sanctuary. We had to ensure that our work didn’t harm the environment. All materials and systems used were chosen carefully to respect the ecology.
2. Difficult Terrain
The ghat’s uneven landscape made installation tricky. Setting up projection systems, laying foundations, and aligning nozzles took thoughtful planning and extra effort.
3. Resource Management
Power and water usage had to be efficient. We couldn’t rely on excess supply, so we designed systems that minimised consumption and reused water wherever possible.
4. Technical Synchronisation
Getting lights, music, water, and aqua screen projection to work in sync wasn’t easy. It required multiple rounds of testing and fine-tuning for a smooth, immersive show.
5. Multi-Stakeholder Coordination
The project involved many teams, local authorities, designers, engineers, and support staff. Aligning everyone and getting timely approvals demanded clear communication and teamwork.
How were those challenges resolved?
Our Experience
With roots going back to 1989, our team has handled complex water feature installations across India. That experience helped us anticipate issues early and plan with precision.
Smart Engineering, On-Site
Our engineers brought deep technical know-how to the field. Whether it was adjusting to uneven terrain or setting up projection rigs near the water, their on-site adaptability made the difference.
Eco-Conscious Design
Understanding the sensitivity of the site, we opted for water-saving recirculation systems and energy-efficient lighting. Every component was selected with long-term sustainability in mind.
Seamless Synchronization
To create the immersive sound-light-water-projection experience, our control systems team ran multiple simulations and live trials. We fine-tuned sequences until everything felt effortless to the viewer.
Tight Teamwork
Weekly reviews, open channels of communication, and mutual respect helped keep the project on track and conflict-free.
How has your work helped the client
