What did the client want to achieve?

In more creative professions it’s essential that you understand your client’s needs. These elements communicate tone, mood and focus, making the most of your venue space and drawing your guest’s attention to all of the right things. It is well known that different types of elements can evoke different moods and can trigger different emotions in people. Also, the client wanted to provide basic and advanced tourist facilities at the Red Fort to make the monument tourist friendly and enhance its tourist potential and cultural importance in a planned and phased manner.

Scope of work your company was involved in

The major components regarding the work to be carried out includes Research, conceptualize and create the concept for the Sound and Light Show with 3D Projection mapping along with synchronization of the content with music/special effects for providing audiovisual aid for the show. Procurement & installation of hardware, equipment, software e.g. sound system, light system, show control systems, wiring & cables, control room, diesel generator for power back-up etc. as per the project concept.

What key challenges were faced?

Lighting and sound are crucial elements of any successful permanent installation. However, setting up and managing these aspects can also pose some common challenges that require careful planning and troubleshooting. One of the first things you need to consider is the power supply and the safety of the equipment and the attendees. Another common challenge for such event is the acoustics and feedback of the venue. Depending on the size, shape, and materials of the space, the sound quality can vary significantly. Lighting can make or break the mood and atmosphere of your event, so you need to pay attention to the lighting design and control. One of the most frustrating challenges for event lighting and sound setup is the equipment compatibility and reliability. The ultimate goal of your event lighting and sound setup is to engage and interact with your audience, and to create a memorable experience for them if you have a large or diverse audience.

How were those challenges resolved?

You need to ensure that you have enough power outlets, extension cords, and surge protectors to run all your devices without overloading the circuits or creating fire hazards. You may need to adjust the volume, equalization, and positioning of your speakers and microphones accordingly to avoid feedback. You can use directional microphones and place them away from the speakers and use filters or software to reduce the feedback frequency. You also need to control the lighting levels, transitions, and effects with a dimmer board or a software program, and coordinate with the sound and video teams to sync the lighting with the other elements with the help of a professional lighting designer. You also need to test your equipment before the event and have backup or alternative options in case of malfunction or failure and be ready to troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the show.

How has your work helped the client?

In any client relationship, it’s important that you understand what motivates your clients, what challenges they may be facing, and how you can help them reach their goals. If you can consistently prove yourself to be a strategic problem-solver and a reliable partner, your clients will grow to trust you even more. This has helped the client not only fulfil its objective of adding attraction for the tourist from all over the world but also domestic visitors.

What are you most proud of in relation to the project?

Beautifully conceptualized, scripted and executed, this approximately 1 hour-long show is a one-of-its-kind visual and cultural treat highlighting the India’s rich history and heritage to newer generations through interactive techniques.
