BUDGET: Between 1 crore INR and 4.99 crore INR (More than USD135,000 but less than USD540,000)

Project Overview

The project aims to modernize and strengthen the telecommunications infrastructure across the Mumbai Division of Western Railway. It focuses on improving communication reliability, operational efficiency, and safety by deploying advanced telecom technologies and upgrading existing equipment.

The project demanded meticulous planning, phased implementation, and close coordination with Western Railway officials due to the operational sensitivity of railway premises. All activities were executed in compliance with applicable railway specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Upon completion, the project significantly enhanced communication reliability, centralized monitoring capabilities, network availability, and overall operational efficiency. The modernized telecom infrastructure provides a scalable and future-ready platform capable of supporting expanding digital applications, improving coordination between control centers and field personnel, and strengthening the operational resilience of Mumbai Division. The project represents a significant step toward building a secure, efficient, and technologically advanced communication ecosystem for Western Railway.

What did the client want to achieve?

The client aimed to transform the auditorium into a modern, reliable, and professionally engineered environment supporting the Academy’s growing judicial education, training programmes, seminars, conferences, and official addresses.

Key objectives included:

Speech Clarity & Audio Coverage: Achieving exceptional speech intelligibility and uniform sound distribution across all seating areas, ensuring clarity without excessive volume levels or acoustic dead spots.

High-Resolution Visuals: Deploying a large, clear visual platform to display presentations, legal documents, and video content effectively across the hall.

Simplified Operation: Centralizing system management via an intuitive touch-based interface for day-to-day events, removing reliance on specialist operators or disjointed systems.

Recording & Streaming: Integrating media infrastructure to capture, stream, and archive key programmes, extending reach beyond live events.

Ultimately, the goal was creating a fully integrated, dependable, and future-ready government AV facility operated efficiently by the Academy while upholding professional performance standards.

Scope of work your company was involved in

We executed the complete end-to-end AV implementation, covering system design, engineering, supply, installation, integration, testing, commissioning, and final optimization.

Audio Infrastructure: Deployed TW AUDiO cardioid line-array ELLA6 modules, B17i subwoofers, M8i fill speakers, and stage monitors, backed by Powersoft Dante amplification, a Yamaha digital mixing console, and Biamp DSP. Speaker positioning and acoustic tuning were optimized for uniform coverage and speech clarity.

Microphones & Connectivity: Integrated Sennheiser wireless handheld, lavalier, and podium mics, along with wired microphones, DI systems, stage junction boxes, floor boxes, and professional cabling.

Visual Systems: Installed stage infrastructure for a 16’ × 9’ P2.5 Active Indoor LED display with custom mounting, video processing, and calibration, complemented by a 65” chairman display.

Control & Automation: Integrated a PeopleLink digital podium, Sony PTZ cameras, Extron centralized control, and a 10.9” touch interface for intuitive operation.

Recording & Streaming: Deployed Extron SMP 351 media infrastructure for recording and streaming.

The complete system was fine-tuned as a unified, high-performance AV environment.

What key challenges were faced?

The project presented several critical engineering and execution challenges:

Compressed Timeline: Required rapid deployment, integration, testing, and commissioning without sacrificing installation quality or safety standards.

Multi-Trade Coordination: AV installation had to be carefully scheduled alongside civil, electrical, interior, and acoustic contractors working concurrently, managing complex dependencies across trades.

Acoustic Performance: Achieving uniform speech intelligibility across a large auditorium required precise speaker placement, DSP tuning, and system optimization to control reverberation and feedback while maintaining natural audio.

Large-Format LED Integration: The 16’ × 9’ Active LED screen required engineering a custom load-bearing steel frame integrated cleanly into the stage architecture to meet structural and aesthetic demands.

Complex System Integration: Seamlessly unifying diverse technologies—including Dante audio networking, Biamp DSP, Yamaha digital mixing, wireless mics, Sony PTZ cameras, LED processing, Extron streaming, and touch control—into one coherent system.

The core challenge was delivering a complete, highly reliable AV ecosystem within a fast-paced, live construction environment.

How were those challenges resolved?

The project was executed through parallel engineering, proactive coordination, and system-level optimization. To meet tight deadlines, specialist teams completed rack assembly, cabling, and pre-testing off-site, reducing on-site installation time and errors. Daily alignment with civil, electrical, interior, and acoustic contractors ensured AV dependencies were identified early, enabling smooth sequencing around stage and LED works.

For audio, high-dispersion line arrays were combined with precise DSP processing, gain structuring, and acoustic tuning to optimize coverage, speech clarity, and feedback resistance. Structurally, a custom load-bearing steel framework was engineered for the stage wall to securely distribute the large LED screen’s weight while blending with interior aesthetics.

Finally, networked infrastructure and centralized control unified audio, video, PTZ cameras, presentation, and streaming into a single, intuitive interface. Meticulous preparation, inter-disciplinary teamwork, and rigorous fine-tuning allowed the project to be delivered on schedule without compromising performance.

How has your work helped the client?

The project transformed the auditorium into a fully integrated, professional AV environment tailored for judicial education and government programmes. The updated sound reinforcement system delivers clear, consistent speech reproduction across all seating areas, allowing judges, faculty, and trainees to participate in lectures and seminars with maximum listening comfort.

Visual presentation is significantly upgraded with the 16’ × 9’ P2.5 LED display, providing a sharp, high-resolution platform that keeps legal documents, presentations, and video content clearly visible throughout the hall. Meanwhile, integrated camera, recording, and streaming infrastructure allows key events to be archived and broadcast, extending the Academy’s reach beyond the physical venue.

A major operational benefit is centralized control. The 10.9” touch interface and digital podium simplify routine events, minimizing reliance on specialist technical staff. Most importantly, the project equips the Academy with a reliable, scalable platform capable of supporting future educational and official requirements.

Ultimately, the value extends beyond hardware: it establishes a unified, dependable environment that enhances how the Academy teaches, communicates, presents, and archives its official programmes.

What are you most proud of about the project?

We are most proud of delivering a complex, enterprise-grade government AV integration from concept through commissioning within a demanding schedule and site environment.

The project successfully unified professional sound reinforcement, Dante networking, DSP, wireless microphones, fine-pitch LED visualization, PTZ cameras, streaming infrastructure, a digital podium, and centralized control into a single operational platform.

What makes this achievement particularly significant is balancing technical sophistication with operational simplicity. Behind the scenes, the system incorporates advanced technologies; for everyday users, the auditorium operates seamlessly through an intuitive central touch interface.

We take great pride in the audio engineering—where acoustic tuning, speaker placement, and DSP optimization combined to deliver exceptional speech clarity—as well as the structural integration of the custom 16’ × 9’ fine-pitch LED display into the stage architecture.

Ultimately, this project highlights our capability to manage high-demand government installations, coordinate multiple disciplines under tight constraints, and deliver an advanced, highly practical AV ecosystem.
