Project Overview

War Heroes Memorial, Ambala, is a landmark national memorial dedicated to honouring the sacrifices of India’s unsung heroes from the First War of Independence in 1857. Designed as an immersive educational and cultural destination, the MUSEUM combines history with advanced digital technologies, interactive exhibits, and engaging storytelling.

The campus includes a 63-meter Lotus Tower, 22 themed museum galleries, an auditorium, an Open Air Theatre (OAT), and landscaped public spaces. Visitors experience holographic projections, augmented reality, projection mapping, large-format displays, and multimedia presentations that bring historical events to life.

We delivered end-to-end Audio Visual (AV) integration across the Auditorium, Museum, Open Air Theatre, and Landscape areas. The solution included professional audio systems, projection solutions, LED displays, AV-over-IP infrastructure, centralized control systems, PTZ cameras, digital podiums, networking, and content distribution platforms.

The integrated AV ecosystem ensures immersive visuals, clear audio, centralized control, and reliable performance across multiple venues, transforming the War Heroes Memorial into one of India’s most technologically advanced public memorials.

What did the client want to achieve?

The client envisioned creating a world class memorial museum that would present India’s largest tribute to the heroes of the first War through engaging, technology driven experiences. Rather than a traditional museum, the objective was to build an interactive destination where visitors of all ages could connect with the stories of the nation’s heroes through immersive audio visual technology

The project required a unified AV ecosystem capable of supporting diverse environments, including a ceremonial auditorium, an outdoor theatre, interactive museum galleries, and landscape-based projection experiences. The client sought centralized control, reliable operation, exceptional audio clarity, high impact visual communication, and seamless content delivery across all spaces.

Another key objective was to ensure the technology infrastructure remained scalable and adaptable for future upgrades without significant changes to the existing installation. Ease of operation, simplified content management, and long-term reliability were also essential requirements, enabling venue operators to efficiently manage day-to-day activities while delivering an engaging & memorable visitor experience.

Scope of work your company was involved in

We were responsible for the complete design, supply, integration, commissioning, and support of the Audio Visual (AV) ecosystem across the War Heroes Memorial campus.

End-to-end AV system design & engineering across the Auditorium, Museum, Open Air Theatre (OAT), and Landscape zones. Scope of work included:
.
Professional audio systems including line array speakers, subwoofers, DSPs, amplifiers, wireless microphones, and distributed audio.

Large format display solutions featuring Christie projection systems, LED video walls, LCD displays, and multi display video walls.

Content distribution using Kramer multi-format video switchers, HDBaseT transmission, media servers, and centralized signal routing. Centralized control & automation through Crestron and Kramer control processors with touch panel operation.

Stage lighting and motorized drapery systems for professional event production.

Projection mapping and multimedia solutions for immersive storytelling across Museum and Landscape areas.

Structured cabling, fiber optic networking, and rack integration for reliable communication & signal transmission.

System integration, testing, calibration, and commissioning to optimize AV performance.

Operator training, documentation, and post-deployment support for smooth operations.

What key challenges were faced?

The project presented several technical and operational challenges due to the scale of the memorial and the diversity of its functional spaces. Key challenges included:

Multi-zone AV integration across the Auditorium, Museum, Open Air Theatre (OAT), and Landscape areas while ensuring seamless interoperability.

Customized AV solutions to meet the unique acoustic, visual, and operational requirements of each space.

Outdoor deployment requiring weather-resistant AV systems for reliable performance in landscape and OAT environments.

Long-distance signal transmission through fiber optic networking and AV-over-IP infrastructure across the campus.

Synchronized content delivery across projection systems, LED displays, video walls, and multimedia installations.

Acoustic optimization for clear speech intelligibility and balanced sound coverage in indoor and open-air venues.

Aesthetic integration of AV technology without affecting the memorial’s architecture and visitor experience.

Stakeholder coordination with consultants, OEMs, architects, contractors, and client teams while meeting timelines.

Scalable, centralized control enabling future upgrades and simplified day-to-day operations.

How were those challenges resolved?

The key challenges were resolved by:

Detailed Requirement Assessment: Conducted a comprehensive assessment of visitor flow, audio coverage, display visibility, acoustics, content delivery, and infrastructure needs before designing the AV ecosystem.

Customized System Design: Designed dedicated AV solutions for the Auditorium, Open Air Theatre (OAT), Museum, and Landscape areas with optimized acoustics, display placement, signal distribution, and scalability.

Professional Product Selection: Selected reliable OEM technologies to ensure compatibility, seamless integration, and long-term performance.

Seamless Installation & Integration: Executed professional installation with optimized equipment positioning, cable management, signal flow, and synchronized system operation.

Testing & Optimization: Performed audio tuning, display calibration, signal verification, and system optimization before commissioning.

Centralized Control: Implemented integrated control systems for simplified management of audio, video, displays, and AV infrastructure.

Training & Support: Delivered user training, maintenance planning, and scalable architecture to ensure smooth operations, reliable performance, and future technology upgrades.

What are you most proud of about the project?

More than delivering an AV integration project, we are proud to have contributed to a place that preserves the legacy of India’s brave freedom fighters. Every technology deployed at the War Heroes Memorial, Ambala was designed with a single purpose to ensure that every visitor doesn’t just see history, but experiences it.

Knowing that our work helps bring the stories of sacrifice, courage, and patriotism to life through immersive audio-visual experiences is the greatest achievement for our team. From the Auditorium and Museum to the Open Air Theatre (OAT) and Landscape areas, every integrated system was implemented to support meaningful storytelling while remaining reliable, easy to operate, and future-ready.

This project challenged us to balance advanced technology with the emotional significance of a national memorial. Successfully creating a seamless experience where technology quietly enhances, rather than overshadows, the stories of our heroes is what we are most proud of.

For us, this is more than a completed project it is a lasting contribution to a national tribute that will educate, inspire, and remind generations to come of the sacrifices that shaped India’s freedom.
