Project Overview

The Bapu Tower is situated in Patna, which was initiated by the Government of Bihar and announced by Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar on the Centenary Celebration of Mahatma Gandhi’s Champaran Satyagraha.

Bapu Tower is envisioned as a landmark structure celebrating Mahatma Gandhi’s enduring legacy and his pivotal role in India’s independence movement. Conceived as both a symbolic and functional public space, the tower aims to serve as a hub for reflection, education, and cultural engagement.

This initiative forms part of a larger vision to create architectural landmarks that embody Gandhi’s principles of peace, non-violence, and social justice—ensuring that his ideals remain relevant and accessible to future generations.

Bapu Tower Museum thoughtfully showcases the life and legacy of Mahatma Gandhi, offering immersive insights into his history, social initiatives, lifestyle, and cultural impact. Spread across four floors, the museum features both captivating indoor and outdoor exhibits, seamlessly connected by a grand ramp that symbolises Gandhi’s journey and enduring influence.

What did the client want to achieve?

The primary goals for creating the Museum were to showcase and highlight the words and thoughts of Mahatma Gandhi to a new generation, in a manner that will engage and excite a new audience. The Government of Bihar aimed to demonstrate the enduring relevance of his words and thoughts through the design, planning, and use of materials in the Building, as well as the Exhibits. It has been shown that a Museum Dedicated to the Father of the Nation can be
contemporary, modern and still timeless.

•To commemorate Mahatma Gandhi’s life and work through an iconic structure.
•To create an educational and experiential space for citizens, researchers, and tourists.
•To highlight Bihar’s role in the freedom movement, particularly the Champaran Satyagraha.
•To integrate modern storytelling techniques to present Gandhi’s relevance in contemporary times.

Scope of work your company was involved in

The scope of work included activities of Consultancy for Comprehensive Design Services for EXHIBIT DESIGN on the Proposed Bapu Tower, at Patna, which provides for comprehensive Exhibition Design, and Exhibition Fabricators. Design Habit was responsible for the entire scope of work. It represented the Consultant of qualified Exhibition Designers and any other Consultants, including those with speciality scopes required for the comprehensive design and production of exhibitions.

What Key Challenges were faced?

One of the key challenges in developing Bapu Tower was ensuring historical accuracy. While Mahatma Gandhi is globally respected, he has also been subject to criticism and misrepresentation. The team aimed to present a balanced and inspiring image of Gandhiji, rooted in truth.

This required rigorous research. Scholars sifted through extensive archives and literature to extract authentic information about Gandhi’s life and movements, with sensitivity to context.

Managing a large, multidisciplinary team across India posed another challenge. Artists, vendors, and technical experts from different regions had to align with a unified vision, requiring strong coordination and communication.

Translating the design into a visitor-ready experience—with immersive storytelling and high-end fabrication—was complex. Tight timelines and budgets made quality assurance critical.

The project also involved multiple stakeholders, including government bodies, experts, and contractors. Coordinating inputs and meeting technical standards demanded meticulous planning and supervision.

The COVID-19 pandemic caused significant delays early on. Without it, the project would have progressed more smoothly.

How were those challenges resolved?

Challenges were met with clear strategy, adaptive planning, and strong collaboration.

1. Ensuring Historical Accuracy:

A research team of historians and scholars verified all content using primary sources like letters, speeches, and official archives.
Every script, caption, and exhibit underwent expert fact-checking to maintain accuracy and balance.
The narrative tone focused on Gandhiji’s core values without distortion or over-glorification.

2. Coordinating Nationwide Teams:

A central project team coordinated designers, vendors, and authorities.
Digital tools and centralised documentation streamlined communication and progress tracking.
Regular virtual and on-site meetings ensured alignment with design intent.

3. Aligning Fabrication with Design:

Mock-ups and prototypes were created for key elements.
Workshops trained fabricators on material techniques and creative briefs.
On-site supervision ensured quality and design fidelity.
Flexible production schedules allowed controlled adjustments.

4. Managing Stakeholders & Procurement:

A detailed Gantt chart tracked all timelines and approvals.
Pre-approved vendor networks ensured faster, quality procurement.
A liaison team coordinated with government bodies and suppliers to resolve bottlenecks efficiently.

How has your work helped the client

Design Habit played a vital role in the successful execution of the Bapu Tower project. From concept to completion, the studio remained deeply involved—offering strategic input, creative leadership, and coordination.

A key contribution was the Design Control Document, the guiding framework—or “Bible”—for the entire project. It defined the vision, design language, materials, technical specifications, and execution strategy, ensuring consistency across teams.

Design Habit’s role extended beyond design:
• Cost estimation and budget alignment
• Finalisation of exhibits and materials
• Coordination with fabrication teams
• Art direction, reviews, and approvals
• Delivery of print-ready files
• On-site supervision

They served as both creative partner and project management support—assisting the client with decisions, documentation, resources, and timelines. Every element, from sketches to installation, was reviewed by Design Habit, reflecting the deep trust in their expertise.

Their structured and hands-on approach proved invaluable during execution, enabling completion of the entire installation in just eight months. Design Habit was more than a design agency—they were a strategic collaborator in bringing Bapu Tower to life.

What are you most proud of about the project?

The outcome of the Bapu Tower project has been remarkable. Since its inauguration, the museum has received an enthusiastic response, with a steady stream of visitors. Many have praised its content and actively encouraged others to visit, creating strong word-of-mouth momentum.

Celebrities, public figures, and journalists have hailed it as one of the finest museums dedicated to Gandhian values. Its integration of technology, art, and narrative makes the experience both informative and emotionally powerful.

Social media feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Politicians, influencers, and visitors have shared photos and appreciation, amplifying its reach.

A moving moment came when Gandhiji’s grandson and family visited. Their heartfelt response validated the authenticity and respect with which the project was executed.

For Design Habit, this success is a matter of immense pride. Their involvement from concept to completion was central to shaping the experience. Bapu Tower now stands as a beacon of knowledge and heritage—a tribute to Gandhi and to the power of thoughtful, collaborative design.

Project Overview

The Anant Anadi Vadnagar Archaeological Experiential Museum offers an immersive journey into the city’s rich history and archaeological discoveries. Located beside the Amba Ghat excavation site, it showcases over 6,000 artefacts through curated narratives, scenography, audiovisuals, and interactive media.
The City Gallery allows visitors to walk over the excavation site and experience Vadnagar’s historic streets, markets, and public spaces—showcasing ancient town planning, water systems, and old fortification walls that reflect the city’s continuity. The Belief Gallery reflects spiritual coexistence, featuring stories of Nagar Brahmins, Jain munis, and Buddhist monks—evidenced by finds like the Bodhisattva sculpture. The Lifestyle Gallery explores daily life through tools, pottery, and other day-to-day objects. The Excavation Gallery presents key findings via 3D models and simulations, acting as a precursor to the ambaghat excavation site experience. The Future Gallery invites reflection, enabling visitors to connect past knowledge to build a collective future ahead. The museum transforms every artefact into a story, bridging past and present through meaningful engagement.

What did the client want to achieve?

The client envisioned an experiential museum that goes beyond conventional artefact displays to bring alive the context, meaning, and stories behind each object. The Vadnagar Archaeological Experiential Museum was designed to meet international standards—not just in form, but in narrative depth and visitor engagement. Its core objective is to interpret Vadnagar’s historical timeline through a layered, immersive experience. Artefacts are not isolated exhibits but are woven into larger narratives exploring the city’s beliefs, lifestyles, architecture, and cultural evolution. A key focus is the interpretation of archaeological findings, linking them to the everyday lives of the people who once inhabited the region. The museum bridges the past and present, offering insights into how earlier communities lived and evolved. Using scenography, audiovisuals, interactive technology, and participatory storytelling, the museum becomes a space for reflection, learning, and inspiration—making heritage accessible and relevant to contemporary audiences.

Scope of work your company was involved in

Design Factory India (DFI) was appointed as the Curation and Exhibit Design Agency for the Vadnagar Archaeological Experiential Museum, leading the design of the museum and visitor experiences. As vision leader, DFI shaped the curatorial direction, coordinated with stakeholders, and ensured seamless realisation of the design intent. The process began with extensive research—studying over 6,000 excavated artefacts and mapping Vadnagar’s historical fabric to embed spatial memory into the design. This informed a narrative-led approach combining scenography, immersive environments, and artefact interpretation. Space planning defined visitor flow, zoning, and gallery sequencing, balancing high-impact master shows with informative exhibits and contemplative break areas. Each gallery blended physical and digital media—interactive installations, films, 3D visualisations, and custom showcases—to deepen engagement. DFI also supported visitor experience management by deploying trained ushers and curating events to activate the space. Varied stenographic treatments across galleries created distinct spatial and emotional identities. The design moved beyond conventional displays, offering a layered, multisensory experience that brings to life the site’s history through form, media, and space.

What Key Challenges were faced?

A key challenge was transforming extensive historical and archaeological content into a visitor-centric narrative that remained both authentic and engaging. This meant distilling complex information into clear, emotionally resonant stories that could be universally understood. While technology offers dynamic ways to communicate, it was crucial to balance digital elements with physical exhibits so that tech enhanced, not overwhelmed, the experience. Choosing the right medium—static, interactive, audiovisual, or tactile—required a profound grasp of content, spatial limits, and visitor behaviour. The design needed to engage diverse audiences, from children and casual visitors to scholars, using layered content and intuitive spatial planning for ease and accessibility. The project also demanded coordination across a large multidisciplinary team, making timelines and decisions critical. Ultimately, the museum had to speak to all—children, tourists, researchers—inviting them to connect with Vadnagar’s stories in their way. Designing for diverse engagement levels while maintaining clarity, inclusivity, and depth was a challenge—and one of the project’s most rewarding aspects.

How were those challenges resolved?

The challenges were met through a research-driven, iterative design process that balanced content integrity, user engagement, and experiential clarity. Ongoing collaboration with subject-matter experts helped simplify complex historical and technical data into compelling, accurate narratives without overwhelming visitors.

Multiple rounds of prototyping, mock-ups, and on-site testing informed exhibit formats and spatial layouts. These exercises revealed insights into visitor flow, attention spans, and interaction styles, guiding the choice of media—tactile, audiovisual, interactive, or static—based on their impact and relevance. Designers worked closely with technology experts to integrate digital tools with physical displays, using immersive media and layered visuals to enhance storytelling without overshadowing the tactile experience. Every design element was carefully tested and validated before final implementation, ensuring aesthetic cohesion and a visitor journey that was both informative and emotionally resonant. This collaborative process not only addressed key challenges but laid the groundwork for a museum that connects deeply with diverse audiences.

How has your work helped the client

Our work has played a key role in positioning Vadnagar as a significant cultural and heritage destination. By creating a permanent curated space for its archaeological findings, the museum now serves as both a repository and showcase of the city’s rich, layered history. This has placed Vadnagar on the tourist map, attracting visitors, researchers, and heritage enthusiasts from across India and beyond. More than a museum, the project was envisioned as a catalyst for Vadnagar’s transformation into a heritage city. The design extended beyond the building, integrating with the town’s urban and cultural fabric through strategic heritage circuits and tourism plans that connect the museum to living traditions and historic landmarks. The museum also had a profound emotional impact on the local community, fostering pride and a sense of belonging. The content was crafted to resonate with a broad audience, from children and tourists to elders and scholars. In doing so, the project not only fulfilled the client’s vision but also brought the remarkable story of a small town into the national spotlight through a design that is inclusive, impactful, and forward-looking.

What are you most proud of about the project?

The museum’s transformative impact on the cultural landscape of Vadnagar stands out as a key achievement. It has fostered a deep sense of pride and connection among the local community by narrating the region’s rich history through compelling and accessible storytelling. Since its inauguration, the museum has seen a steady rise in footfall. It has been widely appreciated by visitors from across India and abroad, establishing itself as a significant cultural attraction. It serves not only as a space for public engagement but also as a valuable repository for students, scholars, and researchers in the fields of history and archaeology. Regular school visits and academic interest have reinforced the museum’s role as an educational hub, encouraging younger generations to connect with their heritage. There is deep satisfaction in seeing people emotionally connect with the story, sparking curiosity, changing mindsets, and cultivating pride in their roots. The museum plays a vital role in exposing the next generation to understand the relevance of archaeology in shaping identity and continuity.

Project Overview

The Banjara Virasat museum, located in Poharadevi and commissioned by the PWD department, Government of Maharashtra, was researched, designed, and executed by Delhi-based Design Habit in a record 15 months.

What did the client want to achieve?

The history and the culture of the Banjaras have been modified and assimilated into the majoritarian fold. The Banjaras themselves have forgotten their rites and rituals. Through the museum, the client aimed to preserve the authentic history of the Banjaras and showcase their rites and traditions for future generations.
The Banjaras were labelled and stigmatised as Criminal Tribes. This traumatic label continued even after Independence as denotified tribes. The museum, by sharing its exotic and vibrant stories, aims to elevate its societal status, humanise it, and highlight its contributions to India’s history.

Scope of work your company was involved in

Design Habit’s involvement in the Banjara Virasat Museum at Pohradevi spanned across multiple critical dimensions of the project. The scope included in-depth cultural and contextual research, holistic experience design, on-ground production, technical execution, and programming of the entire visitor journey.

From conceptualisation to realisation, Design Habit played a key role in shaping the narrative structure and translating it into a seamless, immersive experience—integrating art, storytelling, technology, and space design. The team also developed detailed operational frameworks to ensure the museum’s long-term sustainability and smooth functioning.

Post-launch, comprehensive guidelines were prepared for daily operations, covering aspects such as staffing requirements, maintenance protocols, technology upkeep, visitor flow management, and cost implications. These systems were designed not only to ensure efficiency but also to maintain the quality and consistency of the museum experience over time.

In essence, Design Habit provided end-to-end creative and strategic support, ensuring that the vision of honouring and celebrating Banjara heritage was executed with authenticity, precision, and world-class standards.

What Key Challenges were faced?

No ready research and historical narrative was available.

Banjaras are spread throughout the country, with no single authority on any single topic. Content validation was a fundamental issue. Their Banjara language has an undercurrent of the language of their respective states. To select the dialect was arduous. Familiar Banjara people had to be asked to perform as various characters for photography and videography. There were at least 150 such characters, who had to be coordinated throughout. Graphic compositions, required from the 8th to the 20th century, were not readily available. Elements, foliage, fauna, all had to be researched upon.13 important Banjara personalities, presented as mannequins, 46 social reformers, from all parts of the country. They had to be approved by as many family members and social groups.

Integration of various technologies – lighting, sound, audio tracks, projection screens, mechanical turntables, motion platforms, rumbling platforms, flying theatre, animatronic mannequins – with each other, at coordinated timings, was a very arduous task.

A remote site presented challenging logistics, as shipping, handling, and installation of all the tech equipment were difficult, and the limited availability of a skilled workforce added to the challenge. Even a simple task took multiple days.

How were those challenges resolved?

Mediaeval and European travellers, officers, and historians’ books and records were referred to, and a narrative was created for all 13 galleries. Scripts were written in Hindi, Banjara and Marathi. A committee of 51 Banjara scholars were called, and the scripts were validated after intense discussions. A standard version of the Banjara language was decided, and the script was written. 150 characters (and their family) were chosen for their facial and bodily features and called to the museum site for a shoot.

Logistics, travel and food were coordinated. Banjara women’s hairdo requires an hour, along with jewellery (which was in limited numbers, due to its antiquity). The shoot was organised and completed in time. Miniature, company paintings, frescoes, murals, and photographs were referred to, and elements were gathered to create a composition. After approvals from the committee, they were printed. Gathering body measurements and clothes, and then taking approvals from each family member and social groups, was undertaken and completed.

Vendors were called on site for 20 days, where they interacted and discussed integrating technologies. A chain of logistics was established with Nagpur as the centre. All equipment travelled to Poharadevi after crossing a distance of 300 kilometres.

How has your work helped the client

When the Banjara visitors see the museum, they feel very elated and proud to have known their vibrant past. Many swelled with tears of joy and pride, and many cried and called it heaven.

Young visitors wanted to bring their non-Banjara friends to the museum to share their history and culture. For once, the museum became a place of pride for them. The Banjara women sang in joy after experiencing the museum. Old members went back into nostalgia.

For a non-Banjara visitor in the Vidarbha region, the museum has become a destination for outings and recreation. They want to keep coming back and bring their guests along, too.

What are you most proud of about the project?

Executing a project of this scale in the remote location of Pohradevi is a significant achievement, especially within 15 months. The execution meets international standards and was carried out with precision and efficiency.

An advantageous outcome has been the response from the Banjara community. It is their history we’ve brought to life, and the way they’ve embraced it is moving. Many visitors leave visibly emotional, with tears in their eyes.

Advanced technology played a vital role in delivering a high-quality, immersive experience. Every detail, from the artwork to the programming, was carefully designed to meet the highest standards.

Project Overview

“Nij Aatma Manthan”- A Journey Within. Conceived as a pilgrimage of the inner self, the Nij Aatma Manthan Museum derives its name from the Sanskrit phrase meaning “deep introspection.” Nestled at the base of the Statue of Belief in Nathdwara, the museum invites visitors on a transformative journey through 16 immersive zones that unravel the metaphysical fabric of existence- layer by layer. Designed as a seamless interplay of art, philosophy, and cutting-edge technology, each gallery is thematically curated to stir introspection- blending elemental forces, cosmic rhythms, mythological metaphors, and poetic symbolism. This is not merely a museum- it is an experience that bypasses the intellect and touches the soul. Interactive projection mapping, sensory audio design, and kinetic environments come together to offer a highly immersive, high-definition storytelling experience. Executed under the vision of ‘Tatpadam Upvan’, the museum was not just a design-and-build challenge- It was a calling. From complex spatial geometries and curved walls to content continuity and fail-safe system integration, every detail was meticulously sculpted to create a spiritual narrative within a technologically advanced shell.

What did the client want to achieve?

The brief was straightforward- yet profound! Visionary Chairman Mr. Madan Paliwal envisioned a space that would stir something profound within… a place where especially young minds could look inward and grasp that the outer world is nothing but a mere reflection of the inner self.

Rooted in the timeless wisdom of Bharat’s ancient scriptures, the client sought to translate spiritual philosophies into an immersive, sensorial experience. They asked us to curate and conceptualise elemental truths—using technology not as a spectacle, but as a medium to trigger reflection. The fusion of traditional narratives with state-of-the-art immersive storytelling was key.

There was a strong emphasis on subtlety. The experience was designed to be neither flashy nor overwhelming. Instead, it needed to be elegant, intuitive, and deeply personal- where each visitor, regardless of age or background, could take away something uniquely transformative. The client insisted on the use of ‘sacred’ sound frequencies in the audio design, ensuring each zone resonated not just acoustically, but spiritually. Though each gallery stood independently, they had to form a seamless, introspective narrative- revealing the mystery of selfhood.

Scope of work your company was involved in

Axis Three Dee Studios was entrusted with the complete visioning and execution of the “Nij Aatma Manthan Museum’- from conceptualising its philosophical narrative to designing content, curating AV experiences, and ensuring seamless technological integration.

Our mandate extended beyond creative storytelling. We were also responsible for aligning the architectural planning with our thematic and technical framework. This required intensive coordination with the museum architects to ensure that the spatial design —walls, heights, curves, and pathways —was in perfect synergy with the immersive experience being envisioned. Form and function had to move together, without compromise.

The storytelling zones, their conceptual flow, and the AV architecture —comprising high-lumen projectors, custom LED installations, lighting, audio, and control systems —were all designed to operate as a unified experiential journey.

Every element used in the museum —from speakers to screens, lights to mounts —was handpicked based on technical merit and contextual relevance.
Our final handover was not of a museum alone, but of a transformational journey—one where concept, content and technology dissolve into a singular act of introspection.

What Key Challenges were faced?

Executing a seamless projection experience within the Nij Aatma Manthan Museum, covering a massive 22,000 sq. ft., came with its own unique set of challenges. The museum’s architecture is anything but conventional, with curved walls, varying ceiling heights, non-linear pathways, and numerous structural obstructions. These irregularities made it extremely difficult to achieve consistent projection alignment, uniform brightness, and image clarity across the galleries. Standard AV deployment methods were inadequate. Each zone required a custom-calibrated solution to ensure that the immersive visuals merged flawlessly with the physical space. Mapping had to be precise to the millimetre, and content had to adapt to varying surface depths and angles—without compromising artistic integrity or technical quality. Given the museum’s spiritually reflective theme, even a minor technical glitch could disrupt the visitor’s experience. It demanded projection systems that could deliver vibrant colour reproduction, high contrast, and rock-solid stability—all while operating with minimal intervention. The open design of many zones required precise calculations for the acoustic bleeds. The kinetic walls and laser harp required an accurate design to merge with the immersive flow seamlessly.

How were those challenges resolved?

Having previously collaborated with Barco and Axis Three Dee Studios on the iconic outdoor projection mapping at the Statue of Belief, the Miraj Group entrusted the same team to craft an equally powerful indoor experience for the Nij Aatma Manthan Museum. To deliver immersive visuals across 16 intricately designed zones, 65 Barco G62-W11 projectors were deployed—each offering 11,000 lumens of brightness. This DLP projector was chosen for its precise colour rendering, sharp contrast, and reliability in immersive, high-demand environments. The G62’s performance was key to breathing life into each gallery’s unique narrative.

Acoustically, the open-plan nature of several zones posed a significant challenge. Axis sourced specialised narrow-throw speakers capable of delivering targeted sound with remarkable frequency accuracy, ensuring sonic clarity without audio bleeds.

Lighting design was equally pivotal. An array of RGB fixtures, lasers, and moving heads—carefully matched in wattage and colour gamut—were used to enhance spatial dynamics and emotional tone.

Even the kinetic mechanisms and laser harp systems were engineered from scratch, tailored to integrate flawlessly into the museum’s multi-sensory narrative, without disrupting its immersive flow.

How has your work helped the client

The ‘Nij Aatma Manthan Museum’ has quickly established itself as a transformative destination for introspection, immersive storytelling, and experiential spirituality. Its unique design translates abstract philosophical ideas into powerful, multi-sensory experiences- blending technology, art, and narrative with remarkable coherence.
Visitors, both domestic and international, have responded with awe and emotional resonance. The museum’s vibrant projections, responsive audio design, kinetic elements, and atmospheric lighting work in harmony to create a space that doesn’t just inform- it evokes. It has become a talking point on social media, drawing increasing footfall and placing Nathdwara firmly on the tourist map alongside Udaipur.

The client’s vision- once abstract, layered, and challenging to define—has been brought to life with clarity and depth. Each gallery seamlessly guides the visitor through a reflective journey, allowing personal interpretation while maintaining a cohesive storyline.

The museum’s impact lies in its quiet power—where immersive storytelling and subtle technology guide visitors inward. The client’s vision was realised as a timeless, personal, and contemplative experience.

What are you most proud of about the project?

What set this project apart was the challenge —and the privilege —of taking an abstract, deeply philosophical concept and transforming it into a spatial, visual, and emotional experience. It demanded a rare balance: to let art and advanced AV technology co-exist in harmony with architectural space—each element- from content and projection to lighting. The intent was to create an experience that was subtle, immersive, and contemplative. It does not impose meaning but invites each visitor into a quiet dialogue- with themselves. It encourages a reflective pause, a personal insight, a sense of connection that lingers long after the physical visit ends.

To witness our promoters’ joy, to see their abstract vision so tangibly realised, and their eyes light up with quiet pride, was more than just a professional milestone. It was a deeply fulfilling moment for our entire team.

That sense of shared fulfilment, of having created something that resonates beyond technology or technique, is what drives us forward. It inspires us to keep pushing creative boundaries, and to continue crafting experiences that touch people… from within.

Project Overview

Hi-Tech Audio & Image LLP is proud to have completed a landmark audio upgrade at The Music Academy, Madras—India’s premier institution for Carnatic music and classical dance since 1928. The Academy is renowned worldwide for its annual December Music Festival, attracting legendary performers and discerning audiences.

This heritage project required a solution that delivered modern audio excellence while preserving the venue’s architectural and cultural integrity. Our team implemented a custom-designed L-Acoustics system in an LCR configuration, incorporating flown and ground-stacked KS21 subwoofers along with strategically placed fill speakers. This ensured clear, consistent sound coverage throughout the 1600-seat auditorium, including the balcony.

The system was engineered for precision, offering a balanced frequency spectrum and maintaining SPL levels of 90–95 dB(A), with peaks above 100 dB(A). This level of clarity allows the subtlest details of both classical and contemporary performances to be experienced fully by every listener.

The DiGiCo Quantum 225 digital mixing console was integrated to provide world-class processing power and flexibility, enabling smooth control across a wide range of performance formats.

What did the client want to achieve?

The Music Academy, Madras sought to upgrade its existing audio system with a state-of-the-art solution that aligns with its global reputation as a premier venue for Indian classical music. The primary goal was to deliver clear, balanced, and immersive sound throughout the 1600-seat auditorium, including the upper balcony.

Given the diversity of performances—from delicate Carnatic recitals to occasional contemporary presentations—the system needed to provide tonal accuracy, wide dynamic range, and minimal listener fatigue. At the same time, it was essential to preserve the architectural integrity of the heritage structure, requiring a discreet and culturally sensitive integration.

The client also aimed to improve operational efficiency by incorporating a modern, user-friendly digital mixing system capable of handling complex productions. This would empower their in-house technical team with better control and flexibility.

Ultimately, the objective was to enhance the overall listening experience for both performers and audiences, while ensuring the venue remains future-ready and acoustically equipped for a wide range of high-quality performances.

Scope of work your company was involved in

The project included the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of a high-end professional sound reinforcement system, with a focus on preserving the venue’s heritage and delivering world-class sound.

A custom-designed L-Acoustics solution featuring KARA II loudspeakers was implemented in an LCR configuration, with flown and ground-stacked KS21 subwoofers and precision-placed fills. This ensured consistent audio coverage across all 1600 seats, including the 750-seat balcony, despite architectural constraints.
The system was finely tuned to accommodate a wide range of performances—from intimate Carnatic recitals to amplified concerts—with a balanced frequency response, SPL levels averaging 90–95 dB(A) and peaking above 100 dB(A), and minimal acoustic fatigue.

A DiGiCo Quantum 225 digital mixing console was integrated, offering FPGA-powered processing, high-resolution audio, and a user-friendly interface for smooth operational control.

Executed with cultural sensitivity, the upgrade maintained the venue’s visual and historical integrity. The project concluded with thorough testing, optimisation, and training of the Academy’s technical team to ensure long-term reliability and ease of use.

What Key Challenges were faced?

Executing an advanced audio upgrade at The Music Academy, Madras, presented several unique and complex challenges.

1. Heritage Preservation:
As a culturally and architecturally significant structure built in 1928, the building demanded absolute care during installation. No structural alterations could be made, and all system components had to be integrated discreetly to preserve its aesthetic and historical integrity.

2. Acoustic Complexity:
The auditorium’s design, with its large volume, curved surfaces, and upper-tier seating, posed significant acoustic challenges. Achieving consistent coverage and tonal balance across 1600 seats—including 750 in the balcony—required careful system design and speaker placement, without the flexibility of major physical modifications.

3. Diverse Performance Requirements:
The venue hosts a wide range of events—from soft-spoken solo Carnatic recitals to amplified contemporary performances. Designing a system that could handle this dynamic range with clarity, warmth, and minimal acoustic fatigue was critical.

4. Structural Constraints:
Rigging flown arrays and subwoofers in a heritage building, without adding stress to existing structures, required custom mounting solutions and careful weight distribution.

How were those challenges resolved?

To meet the unique challenges of this heritage project, a collaborative and carefully engineered approach was adopted:

Heritage Preservation: All system components were installed using non-invasive methods. Custom brackets and discreet cable routing ensured the building’s historical integrity remained untouched.

Acoustic Complexity: A tailored L-Acoustics LCR system was designed using advanced 3D modelling. Flown and ground-stacked KS21 subwoofers, with optimally placed fill speakers, ensured uniform coverage and tonal balance across all 1600 seats, including the upper balcony.

Performance Versatility: The system was tuned for clarity across a wide dynamic range. Calibration focused on consistent SPL (90–95 dB(A), peaking over 100 dB(A)) and tonal accuracy for both classical and amplified performances.

Structural Constraints: Rigging was executed in coordination with structural experts using load-verified anchor points, ensuring complete safety without altering the original framework.

User Accessibility: The DiGiCo Quantum 225 console was chosen for its intuitive interface and robust processing. Comprehensive training enabled the Academy’s technical team to manage the system efficiently.

How has your work helped the client

The successful completion of this project has significantly enhanced The Music Academy, Madras’s capabilities as a world-class performance venue. The new audio system has transformed the listening experience for both artists and audiences by delivering crystal-clear, immersive sound across all 1600 seats, including challenging areas like the upper balcony.

For the Academy, known globally for its commitment to preserving and promoting Carnatic music, this upgrade ensures that even the subtlest musical nuances are faithfully reproduced—maintaining the purity and depth of traditional performances. At the same time, the system is robust enough to support modern and amplified acts, giving the venue flexibility to host a broader range of events.

The discreet and non-invasive installation preserved the integrity of the heritage structure, meeting both aesthetic and conservation goals. The integration of the DiGiCo Quantum 225 console has streamlined operations, giving in-house engineers more control and efficiency during live productions.

Overall, the project has future-proofed the venue’s audio infrastructure, aligning it with global technical standards and reaffirming its position as one of India’s premier cultural institutions.

What are you most proud of about the project?

We take great pride in delivering a world-class sound reinforcement system that perfectly balances cutting-edge technology with deep respect for The Music Academy’s rich cultural heritage. This project was not simply about upgrading audio equipment but about enhancing one of India’s most cherished performance venues without compromising its historic and architectural integrity.

Successfully integrating advanced L-Acoustics technology into a 96-year-old heritage auditorium presented unique challenges. Our team overcame these with innovative, non-invasive solutions that preserved the building’s structure and aesthetic, while achieving consistent, immersive sound coverage for all 1600 seats—including the upper balcony.

We are proud to have created an audio environment that meets the exacting demands of classical music performances, faithfully reproducing subtle nuances while supporting diverse event types. The integration of intuitive, high-performance control systems empowers the Academy’s technical team to deliver flawless productions effortlessly.

What did the client want to achieve?

With the help of the Glow Garden Project, the client aims to create an eco-friendly, visually stunning garden that enhances urban aesthetics, promotes Night Tourism, and provides an entertainment zone filled with the joy and beauty of glowing animals and trees that mesmerise the viewer.

The objective behind this Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Limited (SRFDCL) initiative was to create a unique visitor attraction in the heart of the city that is easily accessible from all parts of the city, and an ensemble that mesmerises everyone in every age group.

It helps foster community engagement, encourages conservation awareness, and offers a recreational space for residents to connect with nature, ultimately contributing to improved mental well-being and environmental sustainability.

Scope of work your company was involved in

The scope of our company was to design a glow garden, which typically includes conceptual planning, landscape design, selection of lighting and decorative elements, environmental and safety assessments, project management, and coordination with contractors. We may also provide expertise on sustainable and energy-efficient lighting solutions, ensure compliance with local regulations, and offer ongoing maintenance and operational strategies to ensure the glow garden’s aesthetic appeal and safety standards are maintained over time. Develop a comprehensive design concept that aligns with our vision and objectives, incorporating innovative lighting design, interactive exhibits, and natural beauty. Conduct a thorough site analysis to identify opportunities and challenges, including topography, climate, and existing infrastructure. Design a sophisticated lighting system and glowing elements that incorporate energy-efficient LED lighting, fibre optics, and other innovative technologies to create an immersive experience. An essential part of their job was to assess the client’s clinical needs, recommend fixtures that precisely meet the requirements, and develop plans that enhance aesthetics while ensuring functionality and energy efficiency.

What Key Challenges were faced?

“Hard Work Behind the Glow in the Dark” Unique effort that it is, with a Make/Made in India base concept, the Glow Garden hasn’t come to life without a challenge. It indeed poses many challenges, some of which are very tricky and potentially too. The initial impression of the site was not overwhelming, but it was entirely undulating. Being very rich and densely vegetated, the site is full of trees, both big and small, and the designers wanted to make them part of the project to give a feel of a natural habitat to visitors. Also, being a government project with a slew of stakeholders – different government departments, local civic authorities and agencies relating to various functions – coordinating with all of them, and bringing them on a common platform for strategic decisions was a big challenge of its kind.

“Coordinating all that did demand a fair degree of patience and composure,” admitted the White Energy execs. Creating a Glow Garden, a mesmerising outdoor space where plants, trees, and flowers radiate a soft, luminescent glow, poses several technical and logistical challenges. At the same time, the concept of a Glow Garden sparks imagination and creativity.

How were those challenges resolved?

As mentioned above, the site is vibrant and densely vegetated, featuring a diverse range of trees, from large to small. We wanted to incorporate them into the project to give visitors a sense of a natural habitat.

We have kept many artificial glowing trees, animals, birds, and wild animals, which we have tried to blend with the natural habitat, giving visitors the feeling of being under the moon.

We had to explore our options to stabilise the installations in such a way that while installing the elements, it should give a proper perspective view.

How has your work helped the client

Glow gardens—captivating spaces illuminated by vibrant lights and artistic installations—have become popular attractions in the city. These enchanting nighttime venues encourage people to explore urban areas after dark, significantly enhancing night tourism. By drawing visitors to spend more time and money on activities, food, and accommodation, glow gardens directly boost local economies and government revenues through taxes and fees.

Moreover, the glow gardens project revitalised public spaces, making cities safer and more inviting at night. Their unique visual appeal attracts families, tourists, and locals alike, fostering community engagement and promoting cultural events. For governments, investing in glow gardens is a creative way to diversify tourism offerings, extend business hours, and stimulate nighttime economic activity without heavy infrastructure costs.

In summary, the Glow Gardens project serves as an innovative, eye-catching hub that generates revenue while enriching a city’s nightlife, proving beneficial for both governments and visitors.

What are you most proud of about the project?

Our vision with Glow Park was that the garden should respond to the movements and emotions of its visitors, creating a truly immersive and dynamic experience. We take pride in having achieved our vision, as evidenced by the visitors’ responses, and, most importantly, in incorporating all the key elements from Made/Make in India-based products.

This is the Wild fauna glowing in the dark, presenting a spectacle that has not been seen before and captivates visitors like nothing.

Project Overview

Illuminating Gandhinagar: Focus Lighting & Fixtures Enhance Cityscape for Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2026.

As Gandhinagar prepares to host the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2026, the city takes a significant step toward permanent urban beautification. In an initiative led by the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation, Focus Lighting & Fixtures Ltd. has been appointed to install permanent decorative lighting at the CH-0 Circle, bringing a transformative glow to the city’s landscape.

What did the client want to achieve?

Gandhinagar, being the State Capital, hosts topmost VIP dignitaries, various events, and various forums. Apart from standard lighting, Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation came up with the idea of doing urban beautification while using infotainment-entertainment together. To engage the entire class of the crowd, and all age groups. Including children and youth. Uniquely using Architectural and infrastructure lighting.

Scope of work your company was involved in

Attractive Garden Elements are as follows:
1) 9 Nos. Glowing Planet in both the Garden area
2) Glowing National Birds: Peacock
3) Glowing National Animal: Tiger
4) Glowing Wild & Forest Animal: Lion, Dinosaur, Giraffe, Gorilla, Rhino, Zebra, Horse, Elephant, Deer Family
5) Innovative Lighting Pole in the theme of the National Flag Colour
6) To increase the beautification of the existing pond, installed a Glowing Flamingo
7) To increase the Tree illumination, installed a Butterfly in existing Trees
8) Other Glowing Elements like Glowing Trunk, Glowing Rose, and Glowing Bamboos

What Key Challenges were faced?

In this project, the glowing light illumination had to be carefully designed to preserve the integrity and beauty of the natural garden. One of the main challenges was minimising disruption to the surrounding flora and fauna while still achieving the desired visual impact. We addressed this by selecting low-intensity, warm-colored LED lights that blend with the natural environment and reduce light pollution. To avoid harming plant life, all lighting elements were positioned with minimal ground disturbance. Fixtures were installed using non-invasive mounting methods, such as stake lights and custom brackets, which eliminated the need for deep excavation or permanent anchoring. We also used shielded and directional lighting to prevent unwanted spill and glare, ensuring that only intended areas were illuminated.

Waterproofing and Fixture Durability: Challenge: Ensuring lighting fixtures are fully waterproof (IP68 rated) and resistant to corrosion or algae buildup.
Glare and Light Pollution: Avoiding glare on the water surface and preventing light spill into surrounding wildlife habitats.Even Light Distribution: Achieving uniform illumination without visible hotspots or overly dark areas.

How were those challenges resolved?

Through Technical Excellence and Innovation.
The project presented unique challenges, demanding lighting solutions beyond traditional RGB methods. Focus Lighting & Fixtures, in collaboration with lighting consultant White Energy Pvt. Ltd., successfully implemented advanced DMX technology to achieve accurate colour fidelity. We achieved the colours of our national flag as a symbolic representation instead of conventional RGB. Maintaining uniformity across double-head poles was a challenge, but the team’s technical prowess ensured a seamless and harmonious lighting effect.

How has your work helped the client

A Milestone in City Beautification.
For Focus Lighting & Fixtures Ltd., this project signifies a landmark achievement. Known for its expertise in high-end architectural and infrastructure lighting solutions, the company is now venturing into large-scale urban beautification. With a legacy of innovation and a commitment to excellence, this project serves as a stepping stone toward a new paradigm in city lighting design.

What are you most proud of about the project?

We are most proud of how we balanced technical performance with aesthetic and sustainability goals. We were able to deliver a lighting design that not only met all required lux levels and reduced energy consumption by over 40%, but also enhanced the architectural character of the space. One key highlight was our use of intelligent controls and daylight sensors, which helped create an adaptive lighting environment while keeping operational costs low.

Project Overview

The ART Cinema project was a cutting-edge audiovisual installation designed to redefine the cinematic experience through immersive visual storytelling. At the heart of the project is a striking 271″ diagonal Active LED video wall, installed on a 6.40m x 2.52m (W x H) wall, offering crystal-clear resolution and dynamic content delivery. This video wall is seamlessly controlled by a high-performance video wall controller, ensuring the most optimised and synchronised visual playback.

The most innovative and challenging aspect of the project was the transformation of a structural pillar into an illusory visual centrepiece. The client envisioned an uninterrupted viewing experience, demanding the pillar to be virtually “invisible” while serving as a 3D illusion element. Rising to this challenge, our team – known for pioneering audiovisual integration – designed a wrap-around LED solution that not only concealed the pillar but also brought it to life with 3D content. The pillar was clad with a 107″ diagonal Active LED screen, precisely sized at 1.80m x 2.03m (W x H), with a resolution of 960 x 1080 pixels. The result was a visually stunning illusion that blended seamlessly into the cinematic space. Multiple displays were installed with Signage as an Informative display.

What did the client want to achieve?

The client envisioned a captivating, large-scale Active LED video wall designed to deliver immersive content that enhances the overall customer experience. The goal was to create a stunning visual centrepiece that not only displayed vibrant, high-resolution content but also drew audiences deeper into the world of entertainment. To elevate the uniqueness of the space, the client sought to transform structural pillars—typically overlooked in cinema design—into interactive visual elements. Instead of conventional finishes, each pillar was clad on all four sides with precision-fitted Active LED panels. This innovative approach enabled dynamic 3D illusion content to play seamlessly around the columns, leaving audiences awestruck. The combination of a massive central LED video wall and visually transformed pillars created a truly next-level, immersive environment—setting a new benchmark in the cinema and experiential AV industry.

Scope of work your company was involved in

Our primary focus was understanding the customer’s requirements in detail, ensuring their vision was at the heart of every step. The client had a vivid, imaginative concept, and our role was to translate that into reality. We collaborated closely to develop detailed designs, layouts, and 3D visual presentations that brought their ideas to life. From conceptualisation to execution, we were at the core of the solution—designing the system, supplying high-quality AV equipment, and integrating each component seamlessly. Our certified technical engineers ensured precise installation and execution, delivering results that matched and exceeded client expectations. In essence, we transformed the customer’s imaginative vision into a fully realised, high-performance AV experience.

What Key Challenges were faced?

One of the significant challenges we encountered during this installation was adapting to the civil structure, which did not match the standard dimensions required for the Active LED wall. The structure was rectangular, with a height of 2.03 meters and a width of 1.80 meters—posing a significant design constraint. However, as pioneers in AV innovation, we embraced this challenge head-on. Leveraging our expert AV team and adhering to several technical parameters and guidelines, we successfully transformed the client’s vision into reality. Through innovative execution, we integrated the Active LED wall onto the pillars, creating a striking 3D illusion that truly engaged viewers. The highlight of the project was realising the client’s dream of a wrapped LED pillar—a concept that came to life flawlessly with our top-tier design and installation expertise.

How were those challenges resolved?

These key challenges were successfully resolved through the engagement of our in-house experts—industry-leading designers, engineers, and professionals—with over two decades of unmatched AV experience. The cornerstone of this execution was our unwavering commitment to AV standards and protocols. We deployed only the best certified engineers and followed a rigorously structured process to ensure every step met the highest quality benchmarks. In our organisation, the concept of “non-standardisation” doesn’t exist. From design to execution, we adhere strictly to certified practices and AV protocols. This disciplined approach enabled us to transform the client’s visionary concept into a stunning visual reality—delivering not just a solution, but an experience that sets a new benchmark in AV integration.

How has your work helped the client

The client’s primary focus was to captivate and engage customers visiting the cinema, especially during the waiting periods before a movie screening. To enhance this experience, massive Active LED video walls were installed, creating a dynamic and immersive environment. These installations included cubical pillars completely wrapped with LED screen tiles, displaying flowing content with stunning 3D illusions that mesmerised visitors. Multiple displays placed strategically across the floor delivered informative content such as show timings, screen numbers, and cabin details, ensuring customers could easily access information without straining their eyesight. The seamless content delivery across the LED displays contributed to a visually cohesive and engaging atmosphere, offering a unique blend of entertainment and information. The customers were thoroughly impressed by the innovative audiovisual execution, making it a standout achievement in modern cinema design.

What are you most proud of about the project?

One of our proudest achievements was accepting and overcoming the challenge of installing an Active LED display on a non-standard civil pillar.
