BUDGET: Between 5 crore INR and 9.99 crore INR (More than USD672,000 but less than USD1.35 million)

Project Overview

IBM envisioned the AI GovTech Innovation Center in Lucknow as a future-ready hub to accelerate digital governance through innovation, collaboration, and immersive technology while reflecting IBM’s global brand and culture.

SI partnered with IBM from the concept stage, developing the visitor journey, scripting the complete experience, and designing the storyboard to ensure every interaction delivered a meaningful takeaway. The experience centre comprises multiple themed zones, each showcasing IBM’s technological milestones, AI capabilities, and sustainability initiatives through engaging, interactive experiences.

This landmark initiative involved close collaboration with IBM’s leadership, architects, PMC, MEP consultants, and multiple specialist vendors. Despite the challenges of integrating imported AV equipment, custom-fabricated elements, advanced software platforms, and evolving site conditions, EYTE successfully delivered a fully integrated, enterprise-grade audiovisual ecosystem. The result is a world-class innovation centre that embodies IBM’s vision, delivers an engaging visitor experience, and meets the highest standards of quality, reliability, and operational excellence.

What did the client want to achieve?

IBM envisioned the Center as its pilot project for a future-ready environment that fosters productivity, collaboration and innovation while reflecting the company’s global brand. The center was planned to provide a collaborative platform for designing, validating, and scaling trusted AI solutions that improve productivity and public service delivery, with models that can be replicated across government ecosystems. As AI continues to shape the future, its wants to drive digital transformation and strengthen economic competitiveness. To support this vision, the Experience Center features immersive large-format visual displays in the Experience and Innovation Zones, a fully equipped demonstration room showcasing advanced collaboration technologies, an interactive touch-enabled console for digital storytelling, and intuitive kiosks that engage visitors with IBM’s legacy, AI innovations, and sustainability initiatives.

The Clients final takeaway was having a world-class innovation hub that not only demonstrates its technological leadership but also serves as a blueprint for the future of AI-enabled digital governance.

Scope of work your company was involved in

SI delivered the end-to-end AV solution for the IBM Experience Centre, including design, proof of concept (POC), procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, and system integration. The centre features a Reception, Experience Zone, Innovation Centre, Media Room, Demo Room, and interactive pods.

The visitor journey begins at the Reception with digital signage. The Experience and Innovation Zones can operate independently or as a single collaborative space through a movable partition. Two 7 m × 2.5 m Active LED walls form the visual focal points, while Crestron’s AV-over-IP platform enables seamless content distribution, collaboration, scalability, and future-ready expansion.

The Demo Room features a large-format display, wireless presentation, and automation, while the Media Room supports live streaming and content creation. A bespoke interactive console with motorised monitors and an iPad-based custom GUI enables intuitive operation and drag-and-drop content sharing across the centre. Interactive pods and a large touch table showcase IBM’s innovations and sustainability initiatives. The entire facility is centrally managed through the host’s iPad, with independent room controls for simultaneous client engagements.

What key challenges were faced?

The project presented several technical and operational challenges that required meticulous planning and execution. The foremost challenge was completing the installation within the committed timeline despite delays caused by other trades, limited site access, client approval dependencies, and evolving site readiness.

Ensuring the timely availability of imported AV equipment and custom-built components was another major hurdle. Global semiconductor shortages, coupled with flood-related logistics disruptions, significantly impacted procurement and delivery schedules.

Network integration also posed a critical challenge, as multiple AV systems had to be securely integrated with the client’s enterprise network while complying with stringent IT security policies. This required extensive coordination for IT approvals, network validation, and reliable system interoperability.

Maintaining international AV installation standards throughout the project was equally crucial due to the project’s high-profile nature. Every installation adhered to OEM specifications, structured cabling standards, industry best practices, and stringent quality assurance processes, ensuring a reliable, secure, and future-ready AV environment.

How were those challenges resolved?

Project challenges were successfully addressed through proactive planning & close co-ordination with all vendors. Frequent coordination with the client and PMC ensured timely approvals, effective communication, and quick resolution.

Procurement and logistics were monitored daily to align imported equipment and custom-built components with the installation schedule despite supply chain constraints. To minimise commissioning time, partial deliveries were used for advance testing and programming. Equipment was tested across multiple spaces before final installation, enabling a plug-and-play deployment once all materials arrived.

Programming, system integration, and client approvals were executed in parallel, while resource allocation was continuously optimised to adapt to changing site conditions without affecting project progress.

To meet the client’s cybersecurity requirements, the team worked closely with the IT to secure network approvals and integrate the systems into the enterprise network.

Quality was maintained through strict adherence to international AV standards, OEM installation guidelines, and quality inspections. Functional testing, commissioning, and User Acceptance Testing ensured the solution met all operational, security, and client expectations before handover.

How has your work helped the client?

The completed AV ecosystem delivers an immersive, technology-driven experience where the Experience and Innovation Zones use large-format LED displays to actively engage employees and visitors. By accommodating last-minute design changes without compromising quality or delivery timelines, EYTE demonstrated the agility and responsiveness required for a project of this scale. The result is a future-ready Experience Centre that reflects IBM’s brand, culture, and innovation vision, supported by an AV infrastructure built to international standards for long-term reliability.

The centre was inaugurated by Mr. Yogi Adityanath, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, and Mr. Sandip Patel, Managing Director, IBM India & South Asia, in the presence of IIT Kanpur faculty. The centre subsequently supported the signing of two MoUs between the Government of Uttar Pradesh and IBM to accelerate AI-led governance initiatives. One MoU focuses on introducing AI literacy for students in Grades 6–12 and teachers, helping build future-ready digital skills. EYTE takes pride in enabling the technology platform that supports these transformative initiatives.

What are you most proud of about the project?

A key achievement was rapid installation and operational readiness of two active LED walls within three days, despite challenging site conditions and limited readiness. In parallel, customised videowall layouts, content configuration, and processor programming were completed in close coordination with the client’s end-user team to enable multiple preset scenarios.Through detailed planning, strong teamwork, and continuous stakeholder collaboration, all project milestones were achieved, including seamless integration of last-minute design changes without affecting quality, safety, or timelines.Another major accomplishment was the design and delivery of a bespoke Corian console integrated with motorised touch displays, an interactive display, and custom drag-and-drop software with an intuitive GUI. This required advanced AV engineering, automation programming, and seamless multi-system integration. The successful delivery of this enterprise-grade AV experience centre, compliant with international AV standards and exceeding client expectations, reflects the team’s technical expertise, innovation, and ability to execute complex, high-value projects under demanding conditions.
