PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Hyatt Regency in Dehradun, sprawling over 4.25 acres stands as the largest luxury hotel in Uttarakhand. This 263-room hotel marks Hyatt’s debut in the state. Designed with a focus on productivity, it offers seamless experiences and serves as an invigorating hub for both leisure and business travelers.
Hyatt Regency Dehradun provides a top-notch experience for meetings and events, offering event space spread across various indoor and outdoor venues on different levels. These venues include the magnificent Regency Ballroom & Lawns, Vista Lawns, Range Lawns, three spacious Studios, the Pinnacle Lounge, and a boardroom. These spaces are thoughtfully designed to accommodate a wide range of events, from family celebrations and corporate meetings to art exhibitions and community programs.
The project, initiated in 2020, Sir Biotech India Limited selected EYTE Technologies for its AV design due to their expertise and a successful track record of completing three previous hospitality projects together. EYTE Technologies’ prior experience with this brand and the trust of the owners instilled confidence in their selection.
EYTE takes immense pride in successfully navigating both phases of the project, even in the challenging context of the pandemic.
What did the client want to achieve?
The client’s vision was to create a project that boasted world-class facilities, incorporating cutting-edge technologies to provide an exceptional experience for their guests. They were keen on designing public spaces that would immerse visitors and justify the value of their investment. While embracing the latest technological trends was a priority, it was crucial to do so without exceeding the defined budgets.
EYTE Technologies embarked on a comprehensive understanding of the client’s requirements through a series of workshops and then translated these insights into design presentations that aligned perfectly with the client’s vision. Given Hyatt’s stringent global standards for audiovisual (AV) systems, EYTE meticulously ensured their implementation throughout various spaces in the hotel, including banquet halls, ballrooms, reception and lounge areas, multiple restaurants, beautifully landscaped gardens, meeting rooms, boardrooms, and even spa and gym areas. EYTE’s approach was not just about delivering state-of-the-art AV facilities but also ensuring a substantial Return on Investment (ROI) and Return on Objectives (ROO) for the client.

Our involvement in this project spanned from its inception of gathering requirements during the client’s initial requirement gathering and progressing through the phases to culminate in the final installations. The scope of work encompassed a comprehensive range of tasks, including design, documentation, construction, final testing, commissioning, training, and handover.
The essence of successful project delivery lies in the precision of the designs. Achieving these right designs necessitated a blend of experience and a profound understanding of the customer’s needs, desires, and wish list.
Our expertise shone in translating these aspirations into tangible project concepts and BoQ. Subsequently, the meticulous documentation, including layouts and schematics, ensured that the implementation team thoroughly grasped the project’s intricacies.
The implementation team executed a commendable job, orchestrating seamless coordination with various agencies, ensuring timely delivery of equipment to the site, and performing installations that adhered to global standards, elevating the project to a world-class standard.
We assumed complete end-to-end responsibility for this project, underlining their dedication to its successful realisation.
What key challenges were faced?
Time Duration: Hospitality projects, especially when built from scratch, typically span several years for completion. The project’s location in the Himalayan region added to the complexity of construction due to its remote nature. Material and labor availability were significant challenges in this remote area. Furthermore, external factors such as the COVID-19 pandemic and chip shortages exacerbated the time constraints.
COVID-19 Impact: The pandemic introduced severe challenges in project implementation. Strict health protocols had to be followed on-site to ensure the safety of the workforce and stakeholders. Adhering to these protocols while maintaining project progress was a demanding task.
Changing Technology: The prolonged implementation period meant that technology evolved from the design phase to implementation. Coping with changes in equipment design and availability while preserving the project’s original intent posed a challenge.
Chip Shortages: The global chip shortages presented a significant obstacle in obtaining essential equipment within the expected timelines. Navigating these shortages and making design adjustments without compromising the project’s core design proved to be challenging.
How were those challenges resolved?
The challenges encountered during the project were effectively tackled through meticulous planning, proactive issue forecasting, and the implementation of solutions to mitigate potential problems and risks.
To stick to the timelines, the project was executed with multiple teams, all strictly adhering to COVID-19 protocols. Coordination among these teams was vital to ensure that no crucial information was lost and that project progress remained on track.
Strict project coordination and regular follow-ups were essential components of the project management strategy. Timely communication and collaboration between the implementation team and the design team were paramount, particularly regarding material availability and necessary design adjustments. Addressing logistics challenges was another priority, considering the remote location of the site.
In summary, the successful navigation of these challenges was a result of comprehensive planning, teamwork, adherence to safety protocols, effective coordination, and the proactive management of logistics. These strategies ensured that the project was not only completed but also met the high standards expected for a world-class facility, even in the face of unforeseen obstacles.

Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and its aftermath, we demonstrated exceptional commitment and expertise, ensuring that the project adhered to the client’s schedules and timelines.
The meticulous design approach adopted by usallowed for the incorporation of cutting-edge systems and alternative brand selections without compromising the project’s timeline, even in the face of global shortages of chips and equipment.
Our contribution extended to the creation of an immersive and unparalleled guest experience within the facility, setting new standards that surpassed anything available in the region.
Lastly, we played a crucial role in assisting Hyatt in fulfilling its commitment to hosting the Prime Minister of India at the facility, ensuring that the project was completed to the highest standards in time for this significant visit.
